Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-It is almost rare to find activities on campus without the use of billboards, banners or banners. It is even more widespread when it enters political momentum. Every side and corner of the street is full of banners ranging in size from small to giant sizes. In the end, it's trash, right? Destroying the landscape and being burned can have an impact on environmental pollution.
For this reason, the UNESA PKM student team consisting of Ida Dwika Darmawan from S-1 Physical Education, Health and Recreation, Frita Sinatra from S-1 Sports Coaching Education, Moh. Turi also from S-1 Sports Coaching Education, Muhammad Agus from S-1 Management, and Bilqissima Az-Zahra from S-1 Fashion Design Education thought hard to use banner waste.
After going through the stages of study and discussion, they finally arrived at the idea of recycling or making banner waste into various bags that can be used for various purposes. The banner-based production bag was named the Tiktokers Bag. Their idea was proposed in the 2021 Entrepreneurship Scheme Student Creativity Program (PKM) and successfully passed and received central funding.
Ida Dwika Darmawan said that in their hands the banners were transformed into beautiful bags with various motifs that could be used for all purposes. Some are made into cellphone bags, hand sanitizer covers, tote bags, sling bags, tissue covers, notebook covers, laptops, and covers for other items. "The banners can be processed into anything, according to what needs to be made, while we are processing them into bags or what we call the Tiktokers Bag," he explained.
The head of the PKM team explained that at first they only used the waste banners to make hand sanitizer covers, masks and items that are often used during the Covid-19 pandemic so that they gave a different and pleasing impression. "In addition to using banners, our intention is to make us not bored in implementing the prokes," he said.
Bilqissima Az Zahra said that behind the innovation he and his colleagues wanted to invite the public to be aware of the environment. Being aware of the cleanliness and beauty of the environment does not only extend to the disposal of garbage in its place, but how people can also think about utilizing existing waste or garbage into useful items and high selling power.
"Our hope is, firstly, we will not get bored in the process, secondly we will be more aware of the environment, and thirdly, we can creatively utilize the existing waste into something unique and interesting but also useful," he said. #KreasiMudaUnesa (UNESA Public Relations)
