Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—Subdirectorate of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM), Academic Directorate, Surabaya State University (UNESA) conducted socialization of the MBKM and MELISA Program at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law (FISH). This activity took place at Building I6 Srikandi, Ketintang Campus on Tuesday, 21 November 2023.
In the agenda entitled "Roadshow to Faculty", Deputy Dean I of FISH, Dr. Wiwik Sri Utami, M.P, said that MBKM has been going on since 2020. In fact, UNESA has won the MBKM league, which has involved student participation in various activities, both designed by the government and by UNESA itself.
“It's still "Related to the MBKM program, FISH is currently holding internationalization activities in the form of International Internships and PLPs. On the 25th, they will finish and return to Indonesia," he explained.
This program, he continued, is to provide opportunities for all students to participate. in various activities, both at home and abroad, of course according to their respective interests, talents and direction of self-development or career.
According to him, the experience gained outside campus can increase students' self-confidence and provide insight maybe it can't be done by lecturers in on-campus learning.
“There is nothing that is not useful about MBKM, both for academic and non-academic activities. "Students can choose one of the 9 MBKM programs available," he said.
Head of the MBKM Subdirectorate, Dr. M. Jacky, S.Sos., explained that the MBKM socialization was not to inconvenience students, but rather to give them the opportunity to design and choose programs according to their wishes. If they fail, students still have the opportunity to take part in an independent program.

This MBKM program consists of various options, including Independent Student Exchange (PMM), Teaching Campus (KM), Certified Independent Study and Internship (MSIB), Indonesian International Student Mobility Award (IISMA), Entrepreneurship Merdeka (WM), and Teaching Practitioners. This provides various options for students to choose the program that best suits their interests and needs.
Head of the Student Exchange Section, Supriyanto, S.Pd., M.Pd., revealed that the aim of this activity is to build communication so that there is a common understanding regarding the mechanism and implementation of MBKM at FISH and all faculties.
"The hope is that the number of MBKM registrants from the Ministry of Education and Culture and also MBKM Mandiri will increase. This supports UNESA's KPI 2 achievement which will ultimately encourage UNESA's ranking. "The most important thing is to provide provisions for students and the community," he said.
Apart from what is explained above, there is also a presentation of material regarding KKN programs and community service by Tutur Jatmiko, S.Pd., M.Kes. , as Head of the KKN Section. Present at this activity were members of the Academic Directorate and leaders, students and lecturers from FISH. []
