In handling sexual harassment cases involving Surabaya State University students, several stages have been achieved as follows
- The Surabaya State University Sexual Violence Prevention and Handling Task Force (PPKS) has been active from the start in carrying out the handling and carry out analysis and research in determining appropriate sanctions for perpetrators in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Permendikbudristek) Number 30 of 2021 concerning Prevention and handling of sexual violence in higher education environments.
- The results are determined on 16 November 2023 through a Chancellor's Decree that the perpetrator received a sanction of postponing lectures for one semester/suspension. This decision was determined in accordance with the legal aspects and indicators contained in Permendikbudristek No. 30 of 2021.
- This sanction was read out in the presence of the perpetrator, representatives of the Student Executive Board, the victim's companion and the Unesa PPKS Task Force Team, the Directorate Team, Prevention and Handling of Campus Strategic Issues (PPIS) and Unesa Public Relations on the date 17 November 2023.
After going through these various stages, in the end Surabaya State University hopes that this case will become an important moment for the entire academic community to continue working together to strive for an environment that is safe from cases of sexual violence.< /p>
