Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA - One of the habits of successful people is reading books. This is what Aisyah Al Khumaira, a student of UNESA's German Education study program, started doing since she was in high school, leading her to achieve several achievements in various national level competitions.
His last achievement was three gold medals in a national science competition held by POSI in August-October last year. He recorded his name as the champion in the National Science Competition (NSC) for History, Posi Science Competition (PSC) for History and Indonesian Youth Science Competition (IYSC) in History.
In the competition, Aisyah had to compete with 7 thousand participants from various regions. During the competition, he was faced with 75 multiple choice questions with conditions; if true is worth 4, false is worth 1, and empty or in doubt is worth 0 with a duration of 2 hours.
Participants who are identified as violating the rules that have been set will be immediately disqualified. In that competition, Aishah got a total score of 190 NSC categories, 210 PSC categories, and 200 IYSC categories.
Before joining the competition, the woman from Sidoarjo had already prepared everything in advance. He enriched his insights and ideas by reading various references.
“I only read my father's books about German history, the history of world wars and the history of the Japanese empire. Besides that, read history books from the LKS package from school first, starting from world history books and Indonesian history from grade 10 to grade 12," he explained.
The student who likes to read the Qur'an also often attends workshops and seminars. Even had attended about 10 seminars in 24 hours. "If it's free, it's not social media to look for competition announcements, if there is anything left, I will prepare materials and 'execute' them," he said.
He has been participating in competitions since high school. Previously, he had also won a bronze medal in Geography in the OSAK and ISO categories in the same competition. In the future, that is to continue to learn and develop their abilities through various trainings and competitions.
“I want to make my parents and all of them proud. Because I'm walking towards better. Even though it is hard and sometimes torturous, but gradually there are always blessings and sweet fruit. My principle is that time goes on, we must keep on going and don't stop. If you can't run, then walk. If you can't walk then crawl." [UNESA PR]
