The new ranks of UNESA officials signed an integrity pact document as a form of commitment to be ready to carry out the mandate to advance the institution.
Unesa. ac.id., SURABAYA—The Chancellor of Surabaya State University (UNESA) carried out refreshments by inaugurating a number of new officials around the 'House of Champions' campus in the Auditorium, 11th floor, Rectorate Building, Campus 2 Lidah Wetan, Surabaya, on Friday, April 5 2024 .
The appointed officials range from the level of vice chancellor, director, dean, deputy dean, head of sub-directorate, coordinator of study programs, head of institution to head of UNESA environmental section.
UNESA Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., said that UNESA PTN-BH continues to transform and improve its reputation at national and international levels.
One of the things that has been done is refreshing officials in a number of positions to strengthen the implementation of PTN-BH in a more transformative, innovative and high-achieving manner.
"I invite all UNESA officials to improve and safeguard UNESA's reputation and recognition both at the national and international levels," said the chancellor who is familiarly called Cak Hasan.
According to him, all UNESA officials both old and new were appointed to strengthen collaboration to strengthen the foundation for UNESA PTN-BH both in terms of performance and more productive institutional governance.
UNESA Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., invited all officials within UNESA to make leaps, improve performance, innovation and achievement.
In addition , also need to have an entrepreneurial mindset. The UNESA community must have a work program or innovative product that is needed by society, they must have the courage to be creative, the courage to make leaps for progress.
"UNESA is a large PTN-BH which must have a big impact on society, the nation and the state. There is no meaning if what we do does not have an impact on the institution and society," he said.
With this new army, Cak Hasan is optimistic that there will be a massive transformation in the academic and non-academic fields, including a curriculum that must be more adaptive, according to the needs of the world of work and industry (dudi ).
Productive collaboration with business and industrial partners needs to be increased. Courses also need to be dissected as to which subjects are relevant and which are not. Irrelevant courses can be replaced with more relevant ones according to the demands of current and future changes.
"We need to create an innovation ecosystem, downstream research and publications. We need to formulate a superior agenda and revitalization based on a multidisciplinary approach. "UNESA must be productive in producing publications with international reputation and indexed by Scopus," said Cak Hasan enthusiastically.
Meanwhile, Dr. Bambang Sigit Widodo, M.Pd., Deputy Chancellor III, Research, Innovation, Ranking, Publication and Science Center who was just inaugurated said that one of his focuses is innovation, ranking and center of excellence.
"The future target is how UNESA's ranking can rise. At the national level we are quite proud, because we have met the IKU target (Key Performance Indicators, ed). Future IKU targets can enter the top 10 out of 21 PTN-BH," he said.
Apart from that, another priority is increasing reputation and recognition at the international level by encouraging Scopus indexed publications to increase both in number and quality. In this way, it is hoped that UNESA's position in various world ranking institutions can continue to improve.
Meanwhile, Dr. Martadi, M.Sn., Deputy Chancellor IV for Planning, Development, Cooperation and Information and Communication Technology, said he was ready to continue the various superior programs that had been carried out and continue to innovate to find new, better ways for the progress of the institution.
One of the targets for the future is to maintain good programs while creating new program breakthroughs in accordance with the Chancellor's mandate. One of the mandates is strengthening UNESA's branding so that UNESA's services, programs, products and everything about it is known to the wider public.[]
