Unesa .ac.id Surabaya - Indonesia is known for its mega biodiversity more than 10000 types of herbal plants grow naturally and some of them are widely cultivated by the community as Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA). One of the herbs that is widely cultivated by the community is the Zodia plant ( Evodia suaveolens ) which is an Indonesian endemic plant originating from Papua. Zodia plants are widely used as an anti-mosquito by the community but people do not yet know the great potential possessed by zodia one of which is as a cure for cancer.
Based on data from the World Helath Organization (WHO) the incidence of cancer in 2008 to 2012 increased from 12.7 to 14.1 million. In Indonesia alone the prevalence of cancer in 2013 to 2018 has increased from 1.4 to 1.8 per mil. Some cancer treatments such as radiotherapy chemotherapy and surgical operations are currently considered less effective because of the bad side effects that cancer patients get. On the other hand herbal medicine is currently in great demand by the public because of the minimal side effects that are given. Some herbal treatments given to cancer patients have also been developed by research institutes and hospitals including research conducted by three students of Biology Department Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Surabaya State University.

M.Sc. as the supervisor through the exact research program Student Creativity Scheme (PKM-PE) with funding from Belmawa-Ristekdikti the research team consisted of Ghea Dionita Sanora Elly Yana Mastura and Ongky Muji Handoyo utilizing the potential of compound compounds contained in zodia leaf extracts to design colorectal anticancer drugs by molecular biocomputation by testing the docking potential of zodia leaves for colorectal cancer in silico. Erlix said by With this PKM program students can experience competition at the national level. One thing that can make pride is the team daring to try new things. For that we are grateful to be able to compete in this Pimnas. & ldquo; We will prepare all this well. And the key to our success is to dare to innovate and do it to the maximum & rdquo; he said.
