Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA - Chancellor of Surabaya State University (UNESA) Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., together with twelve leaders of State Universities (PTN) and State Islamic Religious Universities (PTKIN) throughout East Java attended the Chancellor's Association Meeting on Wednesday, July 31 2024 at the Tegalboto Campus of the University of Jember (UNEJ).< /p>
The man who is familiarly called Cak Hasan emphasized that PTNs must have the ability to obtain other sources of funding based on their respective potential. This is important to do so that campuses do not depend solely on UKT from students.
Apart from that, he added, increasing university income can also be done by establishing collaboration and synergy between PTNs in East Java. Therefore, this meeting provided a special discussion session regarding the experiences of 3 campuses that have PTN-BH status in increasing income outside of UKT.
"East Java is a barometer of higher education in Indonesia, this is proven by the many achievements and achievements that have been achieved by each PTN. "So we will take the results of today's discussion and monitor it to the Ministry so that it can be used as input for developing PTN policies in Indonesia," stressed Cak Hasan, who is also the Chair of the Indonesian Chancellors Forum (FRI).
As host, the Chancellor Jember University Dr. Ir. Iwan Taruna, M.Eng, IPM., in this activity conveyed the importance of the activities carried out by the Association of Chancellors in order to create a better academic climate in the PTN environment. According to him, this working meeting is very strategic and is a place to exchange ideas as well as share information between PTNs regarding current crucial issues, such as UKT issues.
For information, the PTNs that attended this activity were Surabaya State University (UNESA), University Airlangga, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), UPN Veteran East Java, UIN Sunan Ampel (UINSA), Universitas Brawijaya (UB), State University of Malang (UM), UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim, Madura Trunojoyo University, UIN KHAS Jember, UIN SATU Tulungagung and host Jember University.
