Yes, the player who is familiarly called Rian is celebrating his bachelor's degree after successfully completing his studies at the UNESA Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences (FIKK).
Dean of FIKK, Dr. Dwi Cahyo Kartiko, S.Pd., M.Kes., explained that it was not easy for the Persib Bandung defensive midfielder to complete the final assignment. Everything requires a process and struggle through a number of challenges.
Nevertheless, Rian, he continued, managed to get through, this could not be separated from his high flying hours both at the club and in the national team which enabled him to get through all of that.
However, added the Dean of FIKK, with the efforts of the relevant lecturers and a special formula, Rian, who is a Bachelor of Physical Education, Health and Recreation (PJKR) graduate, was able to graduate well.
For his struggle and achievements, Rian was awarded a master's scholarship and guaranteed a career as a practitioner lecturer at the 'home of champions' campus after he completed his master's studies.
"Because we need lecturers who are truly players and practitioners who are not fake, so if you want to pass and kick it is definitely appropriate," he said.
Rian admitted that he was happy and relieved because he had successfully completed his undergraduate education at UNESA. According to the 24 year old footballer, the offer made by the FIKK dean and the chancellor was a good opportunity for him.
"After this I plan to return to Bandung to join the club and think again about the offer from the chancellor and the FIKK dean, said Rian.
Asked about his ambitions after becoming a graduate, the former Persebaya Surabaya player indicated that he wanted to continue to graduate school. “Yes, this is an opportunity for me and I must make the most of it. "Hopefully it will be easy for me to continue my Masters at UNESA," he said again.
The living legend of Persebaya who is the father of Rachmat Irianto, Bejo Sugiantoro, is also happy to find his son who is now wearing a bachelor's degree.
According to him, the offer of a master's scholarship and the guarantee of becoming a practitioner lecturer at UNESA is a noble thing and a golden opportunity for his children.
"I am proud because there are parties who care about athletes' education, I thank UNESA," he said.
After leaving the main stage, Unesa Chancellor Prof Dr Nurhasan M Kes also appreciated Rachmat Irianto's achievements and hoped that the next Rian-Rian would be born. "We hope that in the future there will be many Rian-Rian with different skills.
Apart from football, there will be volleyball, there will be tennis, table tennis and other sports. "Because we lack lecturers who have qualified skills in their fields to improve the quality of sports and health sciences," stressed the Chancellor.
“So the lecturers must have national level skills. "For this reason, this July we are recruiting national level lecturers such as rock climbing, even in the fields of media sports, business sports, low sports, and many more that we need as strengthening for the sake of the nation," he concluded.
