Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—In order to increase the number of assessors, the Professional Certification Center (PSP), Professional Education and Certification Institute (LPSP), Surabaya State University (UNESA) held a Competency Assessor Workshop in Building I8, Faculty of Social Sciences and Law (FISH), UNESA Ketintang Campus, on 23-27 October 2023.
This training is the second after the first workshop which was held on 10-14 July 2023. This time PSP brought in two master trainer assessors; Benny Bunyamin and Faiza, and two master examiners; Suyanto and Esti Wahyuni.

Head of the Professional Certification Center (PSP), Dr. Ricky Eka Putra, S.Kom., M.Kom., said that a number of lecturers from various faculties took part in this activity. There are around 21 people from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law (FISH), 1 person from the Faculty of Engineering (FT) and 2 people from the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS).
"We hope to be able to participate more in increasing the number of test activities competencies available at UNESA, so that the number of competent students will also increase," he hoped.
He added, in this workshop participants will choose one of the certification schemes that has been licensed at LSP UNESA and take two competency units at inside. The master assessor trainer guides and guides participants in creating Competency Test Materials (MUK) for these two competency units.
Apart from that, the master assessor trainer also provides input for improvement and recommends participants to take part in the assessment on the last day of the workshop . Workshop participants will invite 1 student to apply the MUK that has been prepared in a competency test simulation.
The Head of PSP added that there are several things that will be implemented after this workshop, such as collaboration with related faculties (FISH, FT, FBS ) in inviting workshop alumni to jointly develop the existing certification scheme at UNESA.
"With the addition of the certification scheme, students can have many choices in determining the competency test they will take as a means of proving their competency during college," he said.
LSP UNESA, he continued, will also collaborate with the Academic Directorate and several faculties to be able to synergize certification activities with the existing curriculum. It is hoped that alumni who have obtained competency certificates will be able to obtain strong competency recognition from industry.
"We hope that alumni who have obtained competency certificates will be able to maintain the dignity of UNESA to maintain or even improve their competencies," he hoped. []
