Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—Education is the main pillar in developing quality human resources. To achieve this, Teacher Education and Training (PPG) is a crucial program in producing superior and professional teachers.
In an effort to improve the quality of educators, the Surabaya State University (UNESA) PPG Center organizes activity "Coordination and Evaluation of PPL Cycle I and Follow-up to Cycle II of PPL PPG in Phase 2 Category I Positions" at the Mercure Hotel Surabaya on 3-4 November 2023.
This activity was opened by Prof. Dr. Fida Rachmadiarti, M.Kes, Academic Director of UNESA. He underlined the importance of the role of teachers in bringing a better future to this nation.
"Teachers are at the forefront in shaping the character and knowledge of our children. "Therefore, PPG must be a vehicle for equipping prospective teachers with high competence and morality," he said.
This activity was attended by hundreds of participants consisting of PPG Daljab lecturers and instructors. They gathered to review and evaluate the education and training process that has taken place so far, especially in the Field Practice Implementation I and II programs, as well as formulate follow-up steps to improve the quality of the program.
In the series of events, there were several discussion sessions, presentations and workshops discussing various advantages and disadvantages of implementing PPL I and follow-up to PPL II.
Apart from that, the participants also discussed current issues in the world of education and efforts to face continuous changes in educational demands.
Drs. Fatkur Rohman Kafrawi, M.Pd, as Head of the UNESA PPG Center, in submitting the report, said that the second wave of the PPG Daljab program will be implemented this November. UNESA received approximately 2,100 participants.
"We really appreciate the active participation of all participants in this event. Collaboration and cooperation in improving the quality of Pre-Service PPG is very necessary to create quality educators," said Fatkur. []
