Guidance and Counseling Study Program (BK) Holds Public Lecture to Become 'COOL' Masters

Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—Counseling Guidance Study Program, Postgraduate Faculty of Education, Surabaya State University (FIP UNESA) is again holding a guest lecture (Guest Lecture) with the theme "Becoming a Prospective Master of Counseling Candidate Cool” at Building O5, FIP, on Wednesday, November 22 2023.

Prof. Dr. Mus seeni, S.Ag, M.Pd. as the Coordinator of the BK Masters/S3 Study Program at the State University of Malang (UM) was presented as a speaker on the agenda which was attended by all BK Postgraduate students. This activity was opened by the BK Masters Study Program Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Najlatun Naqiyah, M.Pd.

He hopes that with this activity the BK Master's students will get strengthening, motivation, inspiration and also ideas in conducting research. "We hope that what the presenters will convey will strengthen students' ideas and competencies," he said.

In his presentation, Prof. Dr. Mus seeni, S.Ag, M.Pd., said that being a master's student is different from an undergraduate student, in master's studies students must be able to develop programs or develop knowledge.

Master's students 2 are trained to produce development of BK programs and knowledge, supervision of BK services, BK lecturers who are competent, have character and are competitive nationally and internationally. "Our current situation cannot be separated from the developing environment," he said.

The dynamics of challenges in the field require Master of Guidance and Guidance students to continue learning and improving their abilities. The challenges that must be faced when becoming an educator include bullying, sexual violence, intolerance, corruption, LGBT, free sex, self harm, suicide and many more.

< p>"This is very related to our field, it's just that we have to be sensitive to the problems that exist in our current environment. "Being a BK teacher must be COOL, aka contributive, excellent, responsive, egalitarian and nationalistic," he said.

In this guest lecture, students not only get knowledge on how to be a cool BK teacher, but we are required to be sensitive to problems that surround us today.

"As a teacher you have to learn, when you learn, a teacher has to learn. When we teach by speaking, the richness of our cognition and the richness of cognition will develop when we provide cognitive intake, namely by study," he said again. []
