Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-The Faculty of Sports Science (FIO) of the State University of Surabaya held The 3rd International Seminar of Sport and Exercise Science in a hybrid manner on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. The international seminar carried the theme "The Role of Society 5.0 and It's Implementations on Olympics Games 2021".
This seminar also presented five main speakers from different countries, namely Prof. Yongming Li, Ph. D. from China, Prof. Chia Hua Kuo, Ph. D., FACSM, CTSSN, Prof. Rob Newton, Ph. D. from Australia, Dr. Cem Tianz from Turkey and Prof. Nining Widya Kusnanik, M. Appl. Sc from Indonesia.
Prof. Dr. Bambang Yulianto, M. Pd., Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs in his remarks representing the Chancellor of UNESA, said that the seminar was a forum to express innovative ideas from researchers, lecturers and students in the field of sports. "This is one of Unesa's efforts to consistently encourage innovative efforts for the world of sports," he said.
He hoped that the seminar would be able to make a positive contribution to all participants, and of course to sports activists in the country so that they would be more innovative, productive and accomplished.
Bayu Agung Pranomo, M. Kes., the Chief Executive of the activity, said that on that occasion an assessment of scientific articles was carried out by reviewers. The scientific articles were published in various publishers, including CRC Press/Balkema indexed by Scopus or Atlantis Press (AP), Journal Sport Area, JOSSAE (Journal Of Sport Science And Education), JUARA:: Jurnal Sport, and JPJOK (Jurnal Pendidikan Physical , Sports and Health).
Prof. Nining Widya Kusnanik, M. Appl. Sc, explained the results of his research entitled Identification of Sports Talent for Young Athletes. According to him, related to the identification of sports talent for young athletes. Through the TID (Talent Identification) system, Indonesia managed to find 142 talented young talents from 4,388 students in Papua with an age range of 12-13 years to participate in advanced training programs. The TID system has also been successfully implemented in various countries, such as Japan, China and Australia.
This TID system can be used in several sports, including football, volleyball, and sprinting (running). There are several stages in the TID system, namely conducting a complete physical and psychological analysis according to the characteristics of the sport. Furthermore, general and special selection according to the instrument of the sport concerned. Then proceed with the selection process based on anthropometric and biomotor measurements that are adapted to their physical development.
"Such a process is the first step to identify and find prospective athletes who have the highest potential in certain sports so that they have the opportunity to participate in advanced training programs and be able to achieve the highest achievements," he said. (meds/zam)
