Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—The Indonesian Petanque Sports Federation (FOPI) East Java held a Provincial Conference (Musprov) for the election of general chairman in the auditorium on the 11th floor, Rectorate, Surabaya State University (UNESA) Campus II Lidah Wetan, Surabaya on Monday, December 23 2024.
Based on the results of deliberations attended by all levels of district administrators throughout East Java, the Dean of the Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences (FIKK) UNESA, Dwi Cahyo Kartiko was elected as chairman of the East Java FOPI provincial management (pengprov).
The General Chairperson of PB FOPI, Nurhasan or Cak Hasan congratulated the new chairman of the East Java FOPI provincial committee. He hopes that the new chairman and management will be able to bring new enthusiasm to East Java in improving petanque achievements on the national and international stage.
"I hope that many breakthroughs and innovations will be made in the future, especially in the program for searching and developing sports talent , and improving achievement. The key is collaboration that has an impact," said Cak Hasan, Chancellor of UNESA.
General Chair of PB FOPI, Cak Hasan provided reinforcement and direction in the East Java FOPI provincial deliberation. Cak Hasan hopes for a breakthrough in future management.
Chairman of the Indonesian National Sports Committee ( KONI) East Java, Muhammad Nabil, appreciated the achievements of petanque which had made a real contribution to the last XXI PON by winning two gold, four silver and two bronze.
“I optimistic that with the support of the new management, East Java's petanque achievements can be even better. "It is important to increase competition, both at provincial and national levels, as well as sending athletes to international events," said Nabil.
Set targets for PON 2028
Chairman The elected East Java FOPI provincial administrator, Dwi Cahyo Kartiko, expressed his gratitude for the trust and trust given to him. He is committed to forming solid management and preparing the best team in order to achieve maximum performance at the 2028 National Sports Week (PON).
The ranks of FOPI district and city administrators throughout East Java attended the provincial meeting. They were united and expressed their commitment to advancing and improving the achievements of the East Java petanque sport.

Currently, there are around 20 registered management candidates," said the UNESA basketball professor. PON XXII 2028, FOPI East Java will form a special team to select coaches and athletes in various regions. The selection is carried out based on sports science, including athlete development.
“Selected athletes and coaches must meet qualifications. We will involve the best coaches to develop East Java athletes. "The hope is that we can improve the achievements that have been achieved in the previous PON," he said.
FOPI East Java will also increase the number of petanque competitions at district and city levels or regional and provincial championships or provincial championships, which are intended to attract seeds and superior talent in the sport of petanque.[*]
