Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-The State University of Surabaya (UNESA) is again trusted to host the socialization of Presidential Regulation Number 86 of 2021 concerning the Great Design of National Sports (Perpres DBON) organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (Menpora RI) at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel, Surabaya on Friday , November 19, 2021. DBON is being socialized by the government in 10 provinces that are national sports centers, one of which is East Java.
On that occasion, as the host, UNESA Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., stated that UNESA is always committed and ready to be a partner in supporting and succeeding in the socialization and implementation of DBON. The form of support, first, is in the form of human resources, both trainers and the best experts that UNESA has. UNESA coaches have contributed a lot and brought their athletes to gold in various national, regional, and even international sporting events.
Recently, for example, four UNESA coaches were able to bring their team up on the championship podium and managed to donate several medals for the East Java contingent at the XVI Papua National Park a few days ago. Second, support in the form of facilities and infrastructure. UNESA has sports laboratories for almost all sports. Then sport science and much more. "For athlete development, the center is at UNESA," explained the man who was called Cak Hasan.
The reason and purpose of DBON
The Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. H. Zainudin Amali, S.E., M.Si, revealed that the DBON has a target of reaching 100 years of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia, which is 2045. He explained that the reason behind the presence of DBON was on the instructions of President Joko Widodo. Some time ago, Joko Widodo ordered the Minister of Youth and Sports to improve Indonesia's sports achievements, one of which was by perfecting the way and the national sports ecosystem.
"The direct order from above is to review the total governance and sports ecosystem from downstream to upstream," he explained. It is reasonable, in terms of population, Indonesia has the potential and has millions of talents in various regions. If it's still not enough. It could be that the way of recruiting and coaching is still not right. Through DBON, that's the perfect step.
Fitness, performance and economy
The objectives of DBON, first, are to improve the sports culture of the community or generally make the community fit. The survey results show that the fitness level of the Indonesian people is very low. Indonesians only move an average of 3,500 times, whereas the standard is 7,000 steps. "How do we want to achieve, while we are lazy to move, we are not fit, it is difficult to achieve," he said.
Second, to increase the capacity, synergy and productivity of national sports achievements. Indonesia's future targets and focus are the Olympics and Paralympics, while the Asian Games or Sea Games are only an intermediary step. "It looks difficult, but if we work hard and collaborate and focus, we can do it, everything is calculated," he said optimistically.
Third, to advance the national economy based on sports. Indonesia has a lot of potential for recreational sports. Each region has a destination. For connoisseurs, just choose such as rafting and so on. However, it has not been managed properly and optimally. He hopes that the local government will pay attention to the potential that is still neatly wrapped so that it can be developed and managed to improve the economy in the regions.
The socialization was attended by the ranks of the Menpora, the East Java Provincial Government, the central DPRI, the DPRD, the Surabaya City Government, UNESA leaders and experts, the chairmen of sports, the ranks of East Java sports federations and organizations and athletes who are members of East Java sports organizations and federations.
