Handover of 3P machines to MSMEs in Tempe Sepande.
Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—There are many ways that can be done to encourage the development of micro, small and medium enterprises or MSMEs in the regions, one of which can be innovation and technology transfer as is done by a team of Surabaya State University (Unesa) lecturers.
The team of lecturers who are members of the community service program or PKM consisting of Djoko Suwito as chairman, and Wahyu Dwi Kurniawan, and Muhamad Syariffuddien Zuhrie as members designed the 3P tempeh processing machine (breaker, peeler and separator) of soybean epidermis.
The machine innovation was specifically designed for Tempe Sepande MSMEs in Sidoarjo. PKM Chairman, Djoko Suwito claims that this innovation has been proven to be able to increase the productivity and work efficiency of MSMEs.
According to him, traditional tempe production often faces problems in processing raw materials, especially at the stages of breaking, peeling and separating the soybean epidermis.
Manual processes that take time and energy often become obstacles in increasing production capacity. With the 3P tempe processing machine, this process can now be done automatically, quickly and more hygienically.
He added, the machine is made from food grade stainless steel so it is more safe for food. Apart from that, it has dimensions of length 60, width 60 and height 120 cm. The machine is driven by an electric motor with a power of 0.5 HP which has a capacity of 150 kg/hour.
This machine can be operated easily (easy to use) by producers, because it has been designed to be able to process the stripping process. , separating and breaking soybean epidermis simultaneously.
“With this innovation it is hoped that it can increase productivity and effectiveness up to 3 times. "So it can be beneficial for improving the economy of MSMEs," said Djoko Suwito.
Apart from increasing efficiency, the 3P tempeh processing machine also helps maintain the quality of the soybeans being processed, so that the final tempeh results are more consistent and in line with market standards. This opens up opportunities for Tempe Sepande SMEs to expand their marketing reach, both in local and national markets.
This program also includes business management training for partners. The service team provides assistance in financial management, digital marketing strategies, and optimizing product distribution.
The presence of this machine innovation received a positive response from MSME players. Sukari, owner of the MSME Tempe Sepande, said that this machine really makes their work easier.
“In the past, to peel the epidermis of soybeans, it took us hours and the results were not always optimal. "Now, with this machine, the job is completed in a short time with much better results," he said.[*]
