Various collections of UNESA Fisipol and Political Week Historical Cast
Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—Students, university students, the academic community and some of the general public attended the "Historical Exhibition" held by the History Education Study Program at the Srikandi Building I6, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Fisipol), Surabaya State University (UNESA) Campus 1 Ketintang.
The exhibition entitled "National Work Title" with the theme "Tracing the Past Through Time and Space" is part of Fisipol Week. This activity will be held for two days, starting Monday-Tuesday, 22-23 July 2024.
In this exhibition, visitors can see various historical artifacts such as certificates, colonial period currency, Batavian trade archives, the finest toran from Surabaya, and a replica of the Nagarakertagama lontar.
Apart from that, newspapers from certain years, as well as various archives that can be accessed in the history house. These artifacts are collections from history houses and history alumni which have high educational value.
The opening of the UNESA Fisipol Pekan History Exhibition was marked by a ribbon cutting.
This event initiated by the History Education Study Program together with the UNESA History Lab in collaboration with the UPTD Museum and the Surabaya City Arts and Culture Building, involving four museums, namely the HOS Tjokroaminoto Museum, the Dr. Soetomo, Surabaya Education Museum, and W.R. Supratman. History laboratories from other campuses such as UINSA also participated.
Izzatul Fajriyah, PIC of the event, said that the aim of this exhibition was to open a series of Fisipol Week events and provide a deeper understanding of history to the public.
"This exhibition is a means of communication for the community to lead a more meaningful life through museum pieces," he explained.
This activity was opened by the leadership of Fisipol. Dean of Fisipol, Dr. Wiwik Sri Utami, M.P., said that Fisipol Week aims to disseminate information about newly established faculties at UNESA.

Muhammad Triyanpanto Agustino, S.Sos., representative of the Surabaya Museum and Art Building UPTD, appreciated This event is because it supports the socialization of museums in Surabaya. "This activity is correlated with our task of socializing the museum to the public," he said.
One of the teachers at SMA Negeri 19, Rani Haniwati, commented enthusiastically on this event. "My children and I are here to provide full support. With this event, children can learn about heritage directly, not just from theory in the classroom," he said.
Fisipol leaders, program coordinators, lecturers, students within the Fisipol environment and partners involved in the UNESA Fisipol Week Historical Exhibition.
He hopes Events like this can be held continuously every year or semester, so that students love national culture more and understand national identity from the past. Other visitors also considered this event to be very important for providing a deeper understanding of history to high school students.
This exhibition aims to introduce the public to the fact that history has a laboratory and to advance their own study programs. Collaboration with other laboratories and museums in Surabaya is expected to present interesting and educational historical exhibitions.
This activity is expected to be a forum for the public, especially the younger generation, to understand history more deeply and be motivated to preserve cultural and historical heritage nation.[*]
