Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—Series Workshop and Coaching Clinic, Preparation of Research Proposals and PKM organized by the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) of Surabaya State University (UNESA) brought in Professor of FMIPA, State University of Malang (UM), Prof. . Dr. Ahmad Taufiq, S.Pd., M.Sc., at the Rectorate, Campus Lidah Wetan, on Wednesday, 23 August 2023.
In this second session, the discussion focused on how to prepare research proposals and PKM that were ready submitted to the Directorate of Research, Technology and Community Service (DRTPM), Kemendikbudristek.
Ahmad Taufiq conveyed tips and tricks for proposals that passed DRTPM funding. The most important thing to note is that the proposal must follow the administrative requirements according to the guidelines. Next, pay attention to the content raised.
Based on his experience in the last few years, proposals that have successfully passed funding always raise interesting themes and topics. Furthermore, the content raised includes hot issues or issues that are currently being discussed on a national and international scale. knowledge of each field of science, both theoretically and practically.

Furthermore, researchers must pay attention to the title and introduction. The studies taken must be in accordance with the results of previous research, then compared.
Then, researchers can review the weaknesses or deficiencies in proposals that have not been fulfilled, both from existing problems and based on the latest research in accordance with their respective scientific fields -respectively. Finally, what contribution will the researcher give later. "That is the key that really determines whether our proposal is accepted or not," he said.
There are two problems that often occur in proposal submission. First, the proposal was not prepared properly, was not final, was not good, and was not perfect, it was submitted in a hurry. Second, the coherence or synchronization between parts of the proposal is not quite right.
“But if the proposal is actually carried out according to the guidelines, the scientific contribution from research according to the scheme, be it the basic, applied, or development scheme, is good, the majority pass funded," he added.
Director of LPPM, Prof. Dr. Turhan Yani, M.A., said that this activity was a form of UNESA's commitment to continue to support lecturers in conducting research. His party made this agenda after seeing that lecturers needed continuous support.
“Of course this support must be accompanied by action. And, the most concrete way is through this workshop and coaching clinic. Hopefully the proposals that will be produced later are proposals that are ready to be submitted to national competitions, the Ministry of Education and Culture's DRPTM, and BRIN," he hoped.
Furthermore, LPPM UNESA has prepared several series of workshops and coaching clinics in stages according to their respective fields of knowledge, such as the Social Humanities research group (Soshum), the Science and Technology group (Saintek), the Education group, and the Community Service group (PKM).
In line with the mission of UNESA PTN-BH, lecturer activities in the field of research must continue to increase. Starting in 2023, LPPM will oversee lecturers participating in national competitions so that there is an increase of around 90% of lecturer proposals that pass at the national level.
This series of workshops will take place continuously in the next 3 months. During this August 4 series have been completed. Then in September, October and November there will be intensive mentoring sessions according to each group.
“In December we will check the completeness of the proposal. The target is that all participants who take part in this workshop will have their proposals completed and ready to be submitted. We will collectively schedule submit, so we can monitor it. In 2023, 45 proposals were successfully funded, in 2022 26 proposals. The target this year can pass 100 proposals, "he concluded. [*]
