Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA –Visual Communication Design Study Program (DKV), Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS) Surabaya State University (UNESA) again held a guest lecture discussing Artificial Intelligence (AI). Hundreds of DKV students from the 2021 to 2023 classes attended the activity which took place at the T14 FBS Auditorium, Lidah Wetan Campus, Tuesday (21/11/2023).
Raising the theme 'Revealing the Technical, Legal and Business Aspects of AI in Visual Communication Design Science', the organizers presented Adhibuat Raharja Wirawan, an AI expert who has contributed significantly to the development of technology and its application in various industries.
DKV Coordinator, Marsudi, M.Pd., in his speech said, the emergence of artificial intelligence as a 'helping tool' in everyday life Today, the world of design makes it easy to produce work. However, there must be provisions or limits that regulate the extent to which students can use AI in their work.
“With this lecture, I hope that students will get inspiration to continue to develop and innovate in their work. "They must be smart, creative, and still uphold uniqueness even if they use AI assistance in their work," he concluded and opened the guest lecture.
In the first session, Adhibuat Raharja Wirawan discussed the technical aspects of AI, providing in-depth insight into developments the latest in the field of artificial intelligence. He provides an understanding of AI algorithms, machine learning, and their application in the development of innovative visual communication designs.
The second session explored the legal aspects of AI that are increasingly relevant in the context of its use. The man who is the CEO of Mechanimotion Ent provided an understanding of the regulations and ethics that need to be considered in the use of AI, especially in visual communication design.
Discussions around intellectual property rights, privacy and legal responsibility were the main focus. "We need to understand the legal framework that regulates the use of AI in design. This not only involves aspects of copyright, but also the protection of personal data and ethics in creating visual content that uses artificial intelligence," he said.
The highlight of the lecture guest was the third session, which discussed the relationship between AI and business, especially in the context of visual communication design. Adhibuat shared experiences about how AI can be a catalyst for innovation in the creative industry.
"AI is not only a technical tool, but also a medium for innovation in marketing strategy and brand image of a product," said Adhibuat.[]< /p>
