UNESA Deputy Chancellor II and team received the KHAS Zone certificate at the One Pesantren One Product (OPOP) EXPO 2024.
Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—Surabaya State University (UNESA)'s commitment to realizing culinary quality around the campus is bearing sweet fruit. The 'Home of Champions' campus received an award at the One Pesantren One Product (OPOP) EXPO 2024 event at the Atrium Royal Plaza Surabaya, Friday, 29 November 2024.
Award and certificate for the Halal, Safe, Healthy Culinary Zone (Zona KHAS) was received by the Deputy Chancellor II for Law, Management, Finance, Resources and Business, Bachtiar Syaiful Bachri and his staff at the superior product exhibition Islamic boarding schools throughout East Java.
"This award is proof of UNESA's commitment to providing halal, safe and healthy food in the campus canteen. We continue to strive to provide a sense of security and comfort to the community and the culinary community in the UNESA area," he said.
The professor of curriculum development added that the campus culinary area has gone through the process and stages of assessment and testing by a team from a number of elements to ensure all aspects, starting from ingredients, processing methods, service, to presentation. And, fulfill the SPECIAL Zone.
In the future, UNESA is committed to continuing to maintain and improve the quality of campus services as well as increasing consumer protection. "We will improve aspects of health, air circulation, table service, waste management, sanitation and other elements that support customer comfort," he said.
The Acting Governor of East Java, Adhy Karyono, emphasized his appreciation for the efforts institutions in realizing the Special Zone, including UNESA. He emphasized that OPOP EXPO 2024 is a barometer of the success of fostering the three main pillars of OPOP—Islamic boarding schools, santri, and santri alumni—through pentahelix synergy involving government, academics, business practitioners, communities, and media.[*]
