Technology guidance in collaboration between Unesa literacy center and Dispendik
Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—Surabaya State University (UNESA) through the LPPM Literacy Center in collaboration with the Surabaya Education Office held the event "Technical Guidance for Literacy and Numeracy Development for Preparation for Computer-Based National Assessments (ANBK)" on Tuesday, June 25 2024.
The implementation of this activity cannot be separated from the role of the Deputy Chancellor VI for Planning, Development, Cooperation and Information and Communication Technology, Dr. Martadi, M.Sn., and Surabaya Middle School Curriculum Sub-Coordinator, Atiko.
The event, which was attended by 321 deputy principals for the Middle School curriculum section, was held in five regions, namely in central Surabaya, West Surabaya, Surabaya North, East Surabaya and South Surabaya. The background of the fields of knowledge (subjects) of the curriculum holders varies, some are Religion, Language, Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences, Physical Education, Arts and Culture, etc.
In South Surabaya or specifically at SMPN 12 Surabaya, the event was opened by the Head of the Surabaya City Education Service (Dispendik), Yusuf Masruh accompanied by the Head of the Middle School Division, Ahmad Sya'roni, and the Principal of SMPN 12 Surabaya.
In his speech, Kadispendik Surabaya said that teachers need to update and upgrade their knowledge and skills to keep up with the times and carry out the best learning for their students.
Apart from teaching, teachers need to prepare learning tools and assessment tools to support their learning. Therefore, it is important to develop literacy and numeracy in preparation for assessments, especially ANBK.
This activity is basically a joint commitment between PDM-10 (PAUD, Primary and Secondary Education) and the Literacy Center, LPPM, UNESA to increase literacy and numeracy in all regions in Indonesia, including Surabaya.
Technical Guidance Activities for Literacy and Numeracy Development targets all schools in Surabaya.
At first , the target of the activity is schools that have low education report cards (categories K-1 and K-2). However, taking into consideration that education report cards can fluctuate and to motivate teachers to continue to update and upgrade, in Surabaya technical guidance is carried out for all schools, especially junior high schools. p>
In his presentation regarding reading literacy, Kisyani Laksono, as the resource person, invited the curriculum leaders to work on questions and study existing AKM questions. Study of the questions is carried out in groups, thereby giving rise to discussion between participants.
In the discussion, different opinions and answers trigger melitism (deep curiosity) regarding the matter being discussed. In the discussion and question and answer session, it appeared that the social skills and practices of the wakakurikulum were quite impressive.
Abdul Haris as the numeracy resource person conveyed numeracy which is related to everyday life. The material presented can be accessed via participants' cellphones, making it easier for them to follow and be involved in the activities.
Limited time is not a significant obstacle because the material is presented concisely so that participants actively discuss and study. In the future, more specifically technical guidance for MGMP with more in-depth training and assistance towards AKM development will be possible.[]
