
KOMPAK: Unesa is ready to collaborate and make this collaboration a historical milestone in the development of the world of sports in Indonesia, especially Indonesian women's football.
Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—Surabaya State University (Unesa) and the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) have agreed to establish strategic cooperation to develop and strengthen the National Team (Timnas ) Indonesian Women's Football. This collaboration program was launched at the Unesa Rectorate, Campus 2 Lidah Wetan, Surabaya on Thursday, January 16 2025.
This collaboration, which is a pilot project for the Indonesian Women's National Team, involves the Dean's Forum of the Faculty of Science Sports and Health. This effort is a strategic and sustainable step Unesa and PSSI in improving the achievements of the women's national team based on sport science.
One of the things done through this collaboration is Unesa hosting a D license training course specifically for women, which is part of FIFA-GIZ program: Women Empowerment in Sports. The national team is scheduled to undergo a training camp or TC in Surabaya for the next month.
Unesa Chancellor, Nurhasan or Cak Hasan via the Dean Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences (FIKK)Dwi Cahyo Kartiko said that this collaboration was an important milestone that reflected Unesa's commitment as acenter of gravity in the field of sports science with PSSI.

PSSI Chairman, Erick Thohir delivered a briefing asynchronously, and hopes that this collaboration will have a significant impact on the Indonesian women's football ecosystem.
In making this program a success, < a href="https://unesa.ac.id/">Unesa prepares a number of experts in the field of sports science by involving lecturers, researchers and students in the process of monitoring and developing athletes. Experts not only from FIKK, but also from Faculty of Medicine (FK), Vocational Faculty (FV), Faculty of Psychology (FPsi), and other faculties.
In addition, Unesa has prepared facilities and infrastructure (sarpras) with adequate sports facilities of national-international standard both for the implementation of training camps (TC), coaching courses and other needs.
“Unesa's Experience and Network in collaborating with Central KONI and East Java KONI, especially in monitoring athletes in various sports, so that they are ready supports the PSSI program to advance Indonesian women's football," said Chancellor Cak Hasan through the dean FIKK.
Exco PSSI, Vivin Cahyani Sungkono emphasized that this effort is to strengthen the women's football ecosystem. The target is that last year's ranking of the Indonesian Women's National Team, which was in 109th position and then 97th position, can rise again through hard work and collaboration with a number of parties.
PSSI has set a target for the women's national team under its guidance. coach Satoru Mochizuki or Coach Mochi so that he can make achievements in the ASEAN Cup which will take place in Jakarta next June. Indonesia won the AFF Cup yesterday as a qualifier and capital for the ASEAN Cup.

The Chairman of the Central KONI is very optimistic that the synergy between PSSI and Unesa will be able to bring a new direction and a new level for the Indonesian Women's National Team.
“We hope for women's football can excel at the ASEAN level. So far we have ranked fifth (5) in ASEAN. Our target is to enter the semifinals and finals. For that, we work hard. "Where Coach Mochi goes, the national team will follow throughout 2025 and will be followed by the Sport Science Unesa team which will monitor developments," he said .
Chairman of Central KONI, Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Marciano Norman said that Unesa's participation with the support of sports science and its facilities and expert staff in collaboration with PSSI can bring the national team's achievements to even greater heights.
"I am optimistic that the achievements of the Indonesian women's national team will increase again. "If we are now ranked 97th, we pray that with the support of Unesa with Coach Mochi who trains in Surabaya, we hope that our ranking will increase," he said. .
The chairman of KONI hopes that the breakthrough made by Unesa and PSSI will also be followed by 13 universities which have sports faculties in collaboration with other sports, which prepare themselves to take part in international single-events and multi-events.
