Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—Series Workshop and Coaching Clinic: Preparation of Research Proposals and PKM by the UNESA Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) entered its third session on Monday, 28 August 2023. This activity took place at the LPPM 6th Floor Auditorium , Rector, Lidah Wetan Campus. The speakers are UGM professors, Prof. Dr. med. vet. Raden Wisnu Nurcahyo.
The session moderated by the Head of Community Service Center, Andhega Wijaya, S.Pd. Suit. M.Or., this focuses on how to prepare research and PKM proposals in the field of community service, with the final results ready to be submitted to the Directorate of Research, Technology and Community Service (DRTPM), Ministry of Education and Culture.
Wisnu Nurcahyo conveyed several tips in preparing research proposals in the field of community service. According to him, before doing service, it is important to find the main issues which are then collaborated with the community. Activities must be carried out in a structured manner with clear output targets.
Furthermore, the professor of agricultural and veterinary science emphasized the importance of updating the SINTA score, because it can affect the reputation of the institution and increase points in the assessment of proposals.
“It is important to have many activities and publications recorded in SINTA. The highest points are obtained when there are publications in the form of scientific articles as the main author of more than 3 articles. "The mandatory outputs in empowerment must also be published through SINTA," he explained.
Two Weaknesses
There are two problems that are often encountered in preparing community service proposals. First, most proposals are too plain and only contain text to make them look unappealing. Second, writers often do not pay attention to writing guidelines, including keywords.
In the introductory part of a community service proposal, it is not recommended to write a literature review. Better to show an analysis of the situation, share concerns that lead to the formulation of problems. Then it is recommended to increase activity documentation so that the proposal looks attractive.
"When preparing a community service proposal, prepare a multidisciplinary team, pay attention to the writing guidelines, determine clear targets, and include sustainability before starting the evaluation process," he explained.< /p>
Secretary of LPPM UNESA., Dr. Oce Wiriawan, M.Kes., expressed his hope that participants would be able to take part in the activities optimally and show their final results by submitting them to DRTPM. "The target is at the end of 2023 or early 2024 to be able to submit to DRTPM. So that after that they can participate in research at UNESA and at the same time raise UNESA KPI," he said. [*]
