Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-SMA Labschool UNESA 1 Surabaya held a School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) to welcome new students for the 2022/2023 school year. The MPLS was held for five days and was attended by 175 participants starting from Monday, July 18 2022 and ending Friday, July 22 2022.
This year's UNESA 1 Labschool SMA carries the theme 'Intelligent and Creative Generation in the Frame of Peaceful and Tolerant Schools' or in Sanskrit 'Calamus Gladio Fortior 2k22'. Head of SMA Quoting the saying, Head of Labschool UNESA 1 Surabaya, Dewi Purwanti, S.Pd., M.Pd., said that 'a pen is sharper than a sword' which means that the pen can elevate a person's status, can lead someone to a greater direction. good.
With a pen students can change their lives. "With this pen, we hope that students can be useful for the homeland and nation. The pen itself is for study suggestions," said Dewi.
The first day of MPLS begins with an introduction to the vision and mission, curriculum and school learning system; The second day was the presentation of the material 'Strategies for Maintaining Environmental Quality and Strengthening Character Education'.
Then the third day, the presentation of the material 'Prevention of Drug Abuse and Juvenile Delinquency and National and State Awareness'. Then the fourth day, continued the presentation of the material 'Education and Introduction to Defense and the State and Guidance of Character and Counseling'.
The closing day, MPLS was filled with the presentation of the material 'Effective Learning Tips' and the Announcement of the Pensalabsa Competition. Kamila Aisyah as the chief executive said that this year's MPLS was fully implemented face-to-face. Especially on the final day of the activity, there were art performances which included acoustic performances from the band; Genjring Party dance performance; and the appearance of the expressions of the new students.
He hopes that from this activity the new students can get to know each other and establish good relations between students and teachers at the school. "Hopefully the younger siblings can get to know friends and school residents and help each other in learning and achievement," he hoped.

MPLS also consists of given tasks such as making ID Cards using colored buffalo paper and shaped according to the specified directions. Then the paper is given a white rope to hang around the neck. The ID Card is accompanied by a passport photo using a white-blue uniform on a blue background measuring 3x4.
Participants collect the signatures of at least 20 OSIS administrators and the signatures of the vice principal. Then upload a twibbon containing a photo showing a face without a mask and wearing polite, free, neat clothes, and including a predetermined caption.
After that, participants made an introductory video with a duration of one minute wearing clean clothes and allowed to use Indonesian or English or Japanese and not allowed to offend ethnicity, religion and race (SARA).
In addition, participants summarize the material given during the MPLS which is written on a B5-sized binder paper. Students bring items according to the clue, for example ADES or which means village water; make yells; make a video of public service advertisements that are tailored to a predetermined theme; and prepare the appearance for the inauguration, the appearance is displayed freely and does not lose the impression of politeness. This MPLS activity was attended by 175 new students who were accompanied by OSIS management and UNESA 1 High School Labschool teachers.
