Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA - The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) is implementing the 2022 prototype curriculum in 2,500 driving schools and 1,000 Center of Excellence Vocational Schools. The implementation of the 'new' curriculum must be supported by increasing teacher professionalism.
This was conveyed by UNESA Education Expert, Dr. Martadi, M.Sn in a webinar held by WdTc Surabaya on Monday, 10 2022. "Welcoming the implementation of this prototype curriculum, it is necessary to increase teacher professionalism," he said.
The Director of the UNESA Vocational Program added that the curriculum is a new hope for liberating education. This curriculum will focus on essential materials where each subject will be given space and time for the development of literacy and numeracy competencies. Then, it will provide flexibility for teachers and schools, so they can be more independent in innovating.
He appreciated the presence of the curriculum. The spirit is to provide a space of independence for students to determine their interests and talents. "This curriculum has more value, students can focus on what they are interested in, they can understand what is being studied and how to learn it," he explained.
Martadi continued, one of the teacher's roles is to guide and direct students according to their interests and talents. "Therefore, teachers are required to recognize students, including their talents," he said.
The webinar which was guided by the Secretary of the East Java PWI, Drs. Eko Parmuji, M.I.Kom., was part of the 19th Anniversary of WdTC. In addition, there was also a session of giving the 2022 Education Care Award to the Minister of Social Affairs, Ri Dr. (HC) Ir. Tri Rismaharini, M.T., UNESA Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., Education Observer and UNESA Chancellor for the 2010-2014 period, Prof. Dr. Muchlas Samani, M.Pd., Head of the Surabaya City PKK Tp, Rini Indtiyani and Director of Radar Surabaya Lilik Widyantoro.
