The meeting initiated by President Prabowo Subianto was in order to build collaboration as well as discuss and exchange views about the world of higher education in Indonesia and global challenges.
"I invite you all here to ask for an explanation of what we have done, what we will do in the future, and about the circumstances, conditions that apply in our nation and the conditions that apply at the global level," he said.
According to the President, various dynamics and circumstances in the global world can affect the situation in the country including in the education sector. "So we should understand what is happening," said President Prabowo.
The Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Dictionary), Brian Yuliarto said that the meeting discussed the great potential of Indonesia as a developed country that needed to be supported by universities through the mastery of science and technology.
Higher education has a strategic role in sustaining the development of research and innovation -based industries. "The president considers the role of universities to be very important, because it can be the backbone of research and innovation," he said.
Higher education provides the best to produce the best human resources, research, and innovations that support the acceleration of national development and economic and industrial revival in Indonesia.
For dictating, panel discussions with President Prabowo took place productively and the chancellors were also given the opportunity to express their views.
He hopes that this meeting can strengthen the synergy between the government and tertiary institutions in developing a developed Indonesia that is supported by research, innovation, and qualified human resources. For Cak Hasan, this meeting became an important milestone for the strategic collaboration of universities with the government.
