
The Director of the UNESA Labschool Institute releases students who are on student exchange in Malaysia and Thailand.
Unesa. ac.id., SURABAYA–A total of 14 students from UNESA Labschool embarked on an "international adventure" through sister school programs in Malaysia and Thailand. They were departed and accompanied directly by the leadership of the Labschool Institute at Juanda International Airport, on Wednesday, July 3 2024, morning.
In this second batch, UNESA Labschool sent 11 junior high school students and 3 high school students. They were accompanied by UNESA Labschool teachers, UNESA lecturers, and students from the Faculty of Education (FIP) who were doing internships in the same country.
"The era of globalization requires us to have a broad view of the world. That's why the sister program "We created this school so that students have international experience and insight," said UNESA Labschool Director Prof. Dr. Sujarwanto, M.Pd.
The professor who is homebase at FIP explained that the student exchange program to Malaysia and Thailand aims to study the education system and culture in the two destination countries. "Labschool students not only learn academics, but also culture, society and the way of thinking of other citizens," he added.
In addition, students will also participate in summer-camp activities. In this program, students will collaborate with students in Thailand. With this, it is hoped that students will have the vision and motivation to continue learning and have international experiences.
According to the professor who likes sports, this collaboration activity strengthens students' intercultural and interpersonal skills, trains independence, responsibility and collaboration abilities internationally, as well as improving their English language skills.
UNESA Labschool is also committed to changing the perspective of the entire academic community to become more international. "We hope that after completion, students can share their experiences and the results of their visit with their friends," he explained.
This activity includes various activities such as school visits to Hatyaiwittayakarn School, Hatyairatprachasun School, Warraphat School, and Thaksin University.
They will also visit places such as KL Center-Twin Tower, Floating Market Hatyai, Songkhla Museum Thailand, Songkhla Oldtown Thailand, Chew Jetty Malaysia, Bukit Bintang Malaysia, and Georgetown Old Town Road.
This program is planned to continue with visits to several other countries such as Australia, Saudi Arabia and China this year. "We continue to make breakthroughs to transform the lab school into an international standard school," he said.[]
