Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA–The effectiveness of learning and learning in schools, one of which is determined by the learning media used or developed. In order to improve the quality of learning and learning, the UNESA Faculty of Engineering Lecturer team trained students and teachers to create and implement augmented reality-based applications as learning media at SMKN 3 Bondowoso in August 2021.
Chief Executive, Drs. Bambang Sujatmiko, M.T. stated, the activity has begun to be planned as well as a needs analysis since April 2021. Then socialization, collaboration, training and discussion of results in the form of seminars will be carried out in October 2021.
During the training, students and teachers at the school got the theory of how to make AR-based learning media applications and their benefits in learning. Then, also direct practice of making learning media with the Assemblr application and its simulation.
Assemblr is an augmented reality-based android application that can be used and developed for learning needs, so that learning and learning are more effective and innovative.
In this application, students and teachers can become editors and can create educational contexts for both the needs of their own school and for the use of teachers and students of other schools. "In the application there are also 3D objects that can be used in developing learning materials," he said.
The purpose of the training is that students and teachers of SMKN 3 Bondowoso are able to produce and use AR-based learning media for learning and learning needs in schools. That way, learning media will be more varied and learning can be more colorful and meaningful.
According to Setya Cendra Wibawa, learning in schools also needs to be directed to the introduction, utilization and production of Android-based applications by utilizing platforms that are widely available on the internet. Both for learning needs and for other needs. This is because this competency is one of the competencies needed in this century. "Hopefully students and teachers will be more creative in using technology as an effective and meaningful learning medium," he hoped.
The training, which is part of the community service program, was initiated by Drs. Bambang Sujatmiko, M.T. as chairman and Setya Cendra Wibawa, S.Pd., M.T., Bonda Sisephaputra, S. Kom., M.
