Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA–There are not many students like Desy Ramadhani Maghfiroh Ayu Putri. The name of the 2020 student of Visual Communication Design (DKV) Study Program, Faculty of Language and Arts (FBS), State University of Surabaya (UNESA) is in line with great women from the country such as Premana Wardayanti Premadi, Director of the Bosscha Observatory and Sri Mulyani, Minister of Finance in Inspiring Women 2022 by Beritasatu Media Holdings last May.
The woman who is familiarly called Fira was included in the list of 10 women and inspirational institutions this year. No wonder Fira was chosen as an inspirational woman in the (individual) education category, because she has a proud record of achievement.
The woman from Surabaya has a hobby of modeling, as well as many achievements in the modeling field. Fira has won 1st prize for Men's and Women's Fashion in East Java 2021, became a Fashion Ambassador for Children with Special Needs, favorite winner for Men's and Women's Batik Embroidery in East Java, 3rd runner up for the Top Model Competition and several other achievements. He also represented Indonesia in Discover Indonesia; Cultural Performance and Fashion Show in Turkey, last December.
Fira doesn't want to achieve on her own. His passion for breaking boundaries must also be shared by other children. She wants to share her commendable modeling skills with others, especially her friends with disabilities. According to him, disability should not be an excuse for not working. Instead, disability should be a reason to keep learning, working and achieving many achievements.
In order to make that happen, in the midst of busy college life, Fira teaches at a fashion school that she founded with her mother some time ago. The school was named Fira Modeling Disability (FMD) Surabaya. The school is specifically for people with disabilities who want to learn and develop their interests and abilities in the field of modeling.
Unmitigated, FMD is in two locations; Grand City Surabaya and another one in Malang. Through the school, Fira not only teaches fashion, but also dance classes, dance and many more. "Even though my mother is helping me, I still have to be good at dividing my time, yes, studying, teaching and working," said Fira to the PR team.
Fira has some tips to become a productive and accomplished person. First, be sure and always try something new. Second, pursue a hobby and develop it consistently. Third, keep practicing and practicing. Fourth, never give up and always try new things as long as it's positive. “Don't feel ashamed or can't. I'll just process it first, for the results in my opinion it's a bonus," he added.
According to him, sometimes in doing something, a sense of laziness always haunts. Well, that's human. Even though it is hard, laziness must be countered by cleverly motivating oneself or placing oneself in a supportive and motivating circle. “I make my parents, my mother the main motivation. Parents' prayers and blessings are the key to everyone's success," he said. [UNESA PR]
