Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA–Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) continue to strengthen the implementation of the Independent Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM). One of them is expanding cooperation with various parties. Most recently, UNESA along with eleven other universities and the Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals Association (ICMI) signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation on Monday, March 7, 2022.
Prof. Dr. Arif Satria, SP., MSi Chairperson of ICMI said that his party encourages cross-institutional and cross-sector collaboration to improve the mindset and skillset quality of Indonesian HR. He hopes that this collaboration can create a young generation and human resources who are characterized, critical and innovative.
Chairman of the ICMI Higher Education Council, Prof. Ganefri Effendi, Ph.D continued, cross-institutional cooperation including with universities needs to be carried out and collaboration must continue to be improved. “This is important, because in achieving the goals of the institution and the nation, competent, superior, advanced and visionary human resources are needed. We can work on this together with universities,” he said.
Dr. Agus Hariyanto, M.Kes., Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs and Alumni of UNESA who was also present at the event said that the collaboration was intended to improve the quality of the tridarma and develop higher education human resources. "What is encouraged in this collaboration is the development of innovation, improvement of education and community service," he explained.
In addition, the discussion in the collaboration also pays attention to joint efforts in encouraging young Indonesians to become intelligent, creative and economically independent generations. “We from universities really appreciate and are enthusiastic and ready to collaborate to support ICMI's programs and activities in the future. Hopefully this shared commitment will soon be realized for a superior generation and an advanced nation," said the man who was once a basketball coach and referee.
In addition to UNESA, eleven other universities involved in the signing of the cooperation include Airlangga University, Majalengka University, Jakarta Muhammadiyah University, Gorontalo State University, Padang State University, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University, Open University and Tanjungpura University.
