
The Elderly Digital Academy equips the elderly with digital literacy to avoid all forms of fraud in cyberspace.
Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—Dharma Wanita Perempuan (DWP) Surabaya State University (UNESA) together with the Women's, Youth and Family Empowerment Commission (PPRK) of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) East Java held a Digital Academy for the Elderly: Tular Reasoning in the Auditorium, 9th floor, Rectorate, Campus 2 Lidah Wetan, Surabaya on Friday, November 1 2024.
Digital Academy for the Elderly: Tular Reasoning which was attended by all the heroes of the 'Home of Champions' campus which is part of the UNESA DWP is entitled 'Together with Digital Fit.' The aim is to improve the health of the elderly both in the real and digital world.
Healthy in the real world in this context is physical, mental health and having a healthy environment. Meanwhile, being healthy in the digital world is meant as the elderly's digital awareness so that they avoid crime and fraud.

Sharing session and discussion of experiences and how to use the ABCD strategy to detect fraud modes in the digital world.
Udji Asiyah, Chair of the MUI PPRK East Java explained that elderly people are often targets of fraud, including fraud in the digital or online realm. Therefore, the elderly need to increase awareness and understand the entry points and motives for all forms of crime in cyberspace.

"The knowledge used to avoid fraud is to use the ABCD formula, namely A, namely observe, B, namely read, C, namely pay attention , and D is discussion," explained Udji Asiyah.
Director of Prevention and Handling of Strategic Issues (PPIS), Mutimmatul Faidah, in his speech said that this activity is important, as a provision for the elderly so that they do not easily become victims of any form of cybercrime.

It is hoped that with this activity, UNESA's heroines and elderly will have a 'weapon' in the form of a good understanding in navigating the virtual world.
Because, in the all-digital era This not only provides convenience but also increases the risk of crime in the form of fraud, for example.
“It turns out that our sensitivity and intelligence towards the digital world is very important. "This activity is important for all of us, especially the elderly, to avoid all kinds of digital crimes," he explained.
Through this activity, PPRK MUI East Java conveyed information about how to prevent digital fraud, the elderly being virtuous during elections, and the elderly being virtuous in detecting hoaxes.
This discussion can help the elderly to understand the digital world, forms of crime, and how to overcome them. This discussion forum provides an opportunity for the elderly of DWP UNESA to share experiences related to experiences in the digital world.[*]
