Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-Harlah really needs to be commemorated in a more meaningful way, that's what Dharma Wanita Persatuan Universitas Negeri Surabaya (DWP UNESA) did. On their 22nd birthday, they did a social service by supporting the residents of the Hargo Dedali Nursing Home, Surabaya on Thursday, December 22, 2021.
The activity was attended by the Chairperson of the UNESA DWP, Dra. Hj. Endah Purnomowati Nurhasan, M.Pd., along with her staff, the head of the head office subunit, representatives of each faculty and the ranks of the UNESA DWP demisionaries. The event was opened by the head of the Panti Werdha Hargo Dedali, Dra. Endang Sinar Gijanti was warmly followed by the chairman of the UNESA DWP.
Then, the residents of the nursing home were invited to get acquainted. From the stage of getting acquainted, then the elderly there were invited to sing with the songs of their time. With the age of more than 60, it seems that self-confidence is still attached as before, like when you were young.
The elderly were also invited to dance to the accompaniment of the poco-poco song. Dra. Hj. Endah Purnomowati Nurhasan, M.Pd., stated that in the life of the nation and state, one must help and entertain one another. Like the elderly, for example, even though they are at a vulnerable age, it is everyone's responsibility to look after and 'help' them.
"All of us will age and become elderly, except for those who are limited in age, we should help them (elderly, ed) with what we can and are able to do, because we will all be like them later," he explained.
The event was closed by giving donations to Endang Sinar Gijanti. He hopes that more parties and activities will be held at the orphanage to entertain the elderly. "Hopefully what is given to the residents of the orphanage becomes a good record and returns with goodness in the future," he hoped. [UNESA PR]
