Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA - SLOMPN Unesa Taekwondo Coach Sanim Dedy Blegur hopes that his students can gain experience from the many matches they play.
One thing that can be done is by taking part in more Regional Regional and National Championships, so that the ability to compete can be improved.
It is hoped that with high flying hours, athletes' mental and physical abilities will improve so that they can meet the target of qualifying for the 2028 Olympics. .
"We hope that these children will have flying hours," he said.
According to him, the ability to compete must be honed through various kinds of competitions. Apart from that, the basic and physical abilities of the students are also continuously improved. On the one hand, the players' mentality will be improved so that later they can meet the targets imposed to qualify for the 2028 Olympics.
"Because today's children are starting training for competitions and they already have the mentality so that when they are 17 years old they are ready, ” he added.
Meanwhile, Desak Made Reina, one of the SLOMPN Unesa Taekwondo athletes, admitted that he was still learning some basic front leg kicks as capital for competing. This technique continues to be studied and becomes the basis for defeating his opponents.
"We usually focus on front leg kicks, or aboriginal techniques," he added.
He admitted that he continues to learn the kicking technique from social media, and hopes to practice it in championships at both regional and national levels.
As is known, four SLOMPN Unesa athletes won gold medals in the Java Three Taekwondo Regional Championship (Kejurwil) in Yogyakarta some time ago.
The four athletes are Afif who competed in the 61 kg cadet class, Zaky in the 65 kg cadet class and Nimas Ayu Alexandria who won gold in the women's 55 kg Cadet class. Afif and Zaky represent Yogyakarta and Central Java, while Nimas Ayu Alexandria represents East Java. Meanwhile, Muhammad Arga managed to win gold in the men's junior 63 class.
Apart from winning gold, Nimas Ayu also won the title of best player in that event. Recently, he also managed to win gold in the East Java Provincial Championship (Kejurprov) last week. (prs/sir)
