Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-The Student Association of Out-of-school Education Department, Faculty of Education UNESA held an entrepreneurship webinar with the theme “How Millennials Can Become Economic Ambassadors in Indonesia in the Midst of a Pandemic and Industrial Revolution 4.0” on Sunday (29/08/2021).
The webinar started with singing the songs Indonesia Raya, Mars Unesa and Mars FIP. Then remarks by the head of the webinar, Lailatul Maulid Diana and the Head of the PLS Department, Dr. Asri Wijiastuti, M.Sc. and continued with the presentation of the material and then continued with a question and answer session. This time the webinar presents speakers, namely Tri Erwinsyah Putra as Co-Founder and Barista Kopi Tuli, Depok.
Dr. Asri Wijiastuti, M.Sc. The Head of the PLS Department said that to become an entrepreneur we must be brave to do something, by starting from small things seriously, we will become a successful entrepreneur. At the end he emphasized that "do do it and just start doing it first," he said.
In his presentation, Tri Erwinsyah Putra or commonly called kak Wings is a total deaf person. He told how he struggled in starting the Deaf Coffee business. He said that he and three of his friends worked together to create this deaf coffee shop.
"Initially, because our background was the Visual Communication Design department who used to design posters and others, we took the initiative to design posters for this business," he said.
In addition, he said that difficulty in communicating was not an obstacle for him. Usually he uses oral language or sign language when interacting with visitors. The coffee shop designed is friendly to both disabled and non-disabled people. "This coffee shop was built to embrace deaf friends so they can start a business," he added.
"Limitations are not a barrier for us to start a business, so don't be afraid and don't give up in starting a business," he said.
At the end he said that during a pandemic like this, an entrepreneur must be able to adapt or be able to adapt his business to environmental and market conditions. This means that a business actor should not only be fixated on a product or method that exists or is commonly used by other business actors, but must be able to innovate by adapting to market needs.
