Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—The International Accreditation Body Team, ASIIN (Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik) visited the UNESA Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) study program in Meeting Room 09 , Rectorate, Lidah Wetan Campus, on Thursday, 19 October 2023.
The visit of the international accreditation agency based in Germany was in the framework of applying for international accreditation of 4 study programs at FMIPA which included the Masters in Mathematics Education, Masters 2 Science Education, S-3 Mathematics Education, and S-3 Science Education.
The study program has finalized preparations for accreditation, starting from curriculum preparation, collaboration data, international mobility, to criteria processes according to the institution's capabilities. Apart from that, each study program must send a Self Assessment Tool (AST) which contains the progress of the related study program and describes the criteria of each institution.
Dr. Widowati Budijastuti, M.Si., Chair of the UNESA Quality Assurance Unit, said that it is important to carry out ASIIN with thorough preparation. By collecting data and evidence that must be attached. This is intended to determine the validity of the submission documents that have been sent, as well as a truth survey and interviews with the institution.
"The ASIIN team and experts from the accreditation institution conducted a trial according to the criteria and then tested its validity," he said.

For your information, a number of UNESA FMIPA study programs have also previously received international accreditation, ASIIN, such as the Bachelor of Physics Education, Bachelor of Mathematics Education, Bachelor of Chemistry Education, Bachelor of Biology Education, and Bachelor of Science Science Education.
With this international accreditation, UNESA, especially the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), is expected to become increasingly well known in the industrial world and to always keep up with current developments. "Hopefully all study programs at UNESA in the future will receive international accreditation, because that is a mandate that all study programs will go through to be able to go international," he concluded.
The assessors and experts present were Prof. Dr. Hans-Georg Weigand from the University of Wurzburg; Prof. Dr. Andreas Muller from the University of Geneva; Prof. Dr. Ratu Ilma Indra Putri from Sriwijaya University; Prof. Dr. Hasyim Ihsan from Yogyakarta State University; Alexandra Dreiseldier from Emol-Fischer Secondary School in Euskirchen; Aris Singgih Budiarso, representative of Jember University Ph.D program; and Dr. Andreas Kern as ASIIN representative.
