Surabaya - Unesa.ac.id, The head of Research and Community Services (LPPM) Unesa, Prof. Darni, M.Hum., symbolically handed over the 2nd Generation KECE Unesa Robot at Airlangga University Hospital (RSUA) and Siti Hajar Sidoarjo Hospital, (08/12). The handover was held in LPPM Office in Rectorate Building on the 6th floor and was also attended by the Head of KECE Robot team, Agung Prijo Budijono, S.T., M.T., and the team.
In his speech, Darni revealed that the manufacture of this robot is a form of Unesa's efforts in helping to accelerate the handling of covid-19. "We are devoted to giving our knowledge to the community in this case the Hospital," he said.
Darni also added that the inception of Robot KECE is one of the wisdom that can be taken from the existence of covid-19. "Covid creates a lot of inspiration and creativity for us. That's where the robot was formed," he added.
Meanwhile, Agung Prijo Budijono, said that this activity is an implementation of Indonesia's innovation service program for handling covid-19 called product diffusion for handling covid-19 during disaster emergencies.
Agung also explained that UNESA second generation advanced robot is a form of development from the first generation. In addition to being equipped with trolley capacity that quantity increases when compared to the first generation, this 2nd generation robot is also equipped with music that can be used as patient entertainment, body temperature sensors, and distance sensors used to detect objects that block the course of the robot.
"In addition to functioning as communication and logistics, this 2nd generation KECE Robot can also be used for room sterilisators," he said.
Furthermore, this 2nd generation of Robot KECE utilizes wifi network as a tool for communication. "Let's be more independent, we use wifi communication," added Agung. In the future, Agung and his team plan to focus their monitoring function on the 3rd generation KECE Robot.
This submission was welcomed by dr. Nily Sulistyorini, Sp. FM, representative of RSUA and dr. Silvy Rahmayanti representative from RSI Siti Hajar Sidoarjo. According to him, the existence of this robot will help the task of health workers (nakes) in treating patients exposed to covid. In addition, this robot can also reduce the number of nakes exposed to covid.
"We are feeling greatful, Unesa team is very concerned for us. With this help, it will ease our burden as well," said dr. Nily. (Humas)
