Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—Surabaya State University (UNESA) professors continue to increase. Most recently, the 'Home of Champions' campus inaugurated nine professors or professors at the Academic Senate Open Meeting which took place at the Sawunggaling Performance Building, Campus 2 Lidah Wetan, Surabaya on Tuesday, October 29 2024.
Inauguration of the nine professors who attended by Lt. Gen. TNI (Ret.) Marciano Norman, Chairman of the central KONI, and his staff, this was the first wave in 2024 which was attended by nine professors. Next, there will be another wave of confirmations in early November, which will be attended by around 11 professors, and around 18 professors are currently preparing for the next wave.
"This first batch has 9 professors, next month there will be 11 professors in the second batch, and we will be ready again for the third batch while waiting for the announcement of around 18 professors. Hopefully the process will be smooth," said Nurhasan or Cak Hasan, Chancellor of UNESA.
Cak Hasan added that applying for a professorship is indeed challenging, and not all lecturers can achieve it, because there are a number of qualifications that must be met. Nevertheless, UNESA is committed to continuing to increase the number of professors through the professor acceleration program.
The Chancellor of UNESA, Nurhasan said that professors are the anchors of research, publications and innovation in higher education as a way to strengthen the preparation of human resources towards a Golden Indonesia 2045.
"Lecturers who meet our qualifications "Encourage the process of applying for professors immediately. We facilitate and provide assistance through an acceleration team consisting of senior professors. We also provide incentives to lecturers who produce publications in reputable journals," said the sports science professor.
Cak Hasan hopes that the increase in the number of professors can become a new spirit and locomotive for UNESA in increasing the implementation of the tridharma of higher education and strengthening the academic, research, publication and innovation ecosystem on the 'One Step Ahead' campus. '
New Professors in Various Fields of Science
The nine professors appointed in this first wave are as follows. First, Prof. Endang Pudjiastuti Sartinah, professor in the field of guidance and counseling for children with special needs. In his inauguration, he delivered a scientific oration entitled "The Strategic Role of Guidance and Counseling for Children with Special Needs; Realizing Holistic Inclusive Education.”
Vice Chancellor II for Law, Management, Finance, Resources and Business, Prof. Bachtiar Syaiful Bachri who was confirmed as professor in the field of curriculum development.
Second, Prof. Abadi, professor in applied mathematics (dynamical systems). His scientific oration was about 'Dynamic Systems and Their Application in the Fields of Mechanics, the Spread of Infectious Diseases, and Population Interactions (Studies of Mathematical Modeling and Analysis and Their Interpretation).
Thirdly, Prof. Raden Roro Nanik Setyowati, professor in the field of sociology of education. His scientific oration was about "Humanist Approaches in Anticipating Supporter Violence in Football (Case Study of Bonek Surabaya Supporters)."
Fourth, Prof. Himawan Wismanadi, professor in the field of badminton physical condition analysis. On that occasion he delivered a scientific oration on "Development of a Shadow Physical Training Program for Badminton Movement Design and Reduction of Rest Periods to Increase Power, Reaction Speed and Recovery."
Fifth, Prof. Achmad Imam Agung, professor in the field of electrical engineering entrepreneurship education, who on that occasion delivered a scientific oration on "Factors that Influence Entrepreneurial Intentions in Indonesia: Perceptions of Vocational Education for High School Students."
