Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA— Unesa String Chamber (USC) performed stunningly in the "Unesa String Orchestra" music concert at the Prof. Auditorium. Dr. Leo Idra Ardiana, M.Pd., Faculty of Language Arts (FBS), Lidah Wetan Campus, on Wednesday, September 27 2023.
Harpang YudhaEmployeeto, S.Pd., M.Pd., chairman of the committee said, this activity is a forum for strengthening students' interests and talents in the arts, especially in the field of music. "This concert is a collaboration between various musicians we are proud of (UNESA; ed) from various genres, one of which is the classical genre by the Unesa String Quartet," he said.
The USC supervisor added that those who performed were selected students who had been selected and prepared to take part in international competitions. "They will take part in the Euroasia Strings Competition 2023, ensemble category in Malaysia from 5-9 October," he explained.

USC itself, he continued, is a student community with a focus on stringed instruments from the FBS Musical Arts study program (Prodi). This community houses all students who take music arts and specialize in stringed instruments.
USC has received various awards in the same competition starting in 2019 and has achieved silver medals every time it has participated in the event. Not only in this competition, they also often make achievements in various other competitions, both national and international.
“By being consistent and practicing regularly every day for six months. "We are targeting to get a gold medal this year," said Harpang.
Agus Suwahyono, S.Sn., M.Pd., Coordinator of the UNESA FBS Music Arts Undergraduate Study Program, said this concert was a form of appreciation from the S study program. -1 Musical Arts for students so they can express their talents in the field of music.
This activity is also a regular concert, but it was stopped during the pandemic and has only just started again. "The hope is that this concert can be a forum for appreciation for FBS and as support for students who represent the name UNESA on the international stage," he explained.
Syafi'ul Anam, Ph.D., Dean of FBS appreciated the activities carried out can strengthen students' competence so that they are technically ready before appearing in competitions.
This is in line with the hashtag 'Home of Champions' which accommodates generations of students who excel in various fields, including the arts, and as an increase in IKU which gives students the opportunity to shine at the global level.
This activity was attended by the Director of Technology, Information, Communication and Cooperation, Prof. Drs. Slamet Setiawan, M.A., Ph.D., FBS leadership, lecturers and other invited guests. [*]
