Socialization of the Independent Entrepreneurship Program, MBKM UNESA
Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—Surabaya State University (UNESA) is again holding outreach regarding the Independent Campus Learning (MBKM) program. In the final series, the socialization focused on the Independent Entrepreneurship scheme which was held online on Wednesday, July 10 2024.
Head of Sub-Directorate for Student Exchange and Academic Mobility, Dr. M. Jacky, M.Sc., explained, the Independent Entrepreneurship Program is not only available at UNESA, but can be taken at several other universities. Even though students carry out the Independent Entrepreneurship program outside UNESA, the field supervisor is still from UNESA.
“This program is in line with other MBKM programs where the conversion is 20 credits carried out over one semester. "To make it more optimal, we fully support this program," he said.
He added that students do not have to take part in the Flagship Entrepreneurship program or from the Ministry, but can also independently form teams to develop their business. This provides flexibility and freedom for students to choose a path that suits their interests and talents.
Afifan Yulfadinata, S.Pd., M.Pd., Head of the Independent Entrepreneurship Section, explained that this MBKM activity is an activity that develops entrepreneurial activities independently or together with other students.
This activity also aims to provide opportunities for students who have an interest in entrepreneurship and deal with unemployment problems.
The Independent Entrepreneur registration process in Indonesia includes five stages. starting from registration on the Ministry of Education and Culture's website, followed by students choosing their destination university. In the third stage, students must upload the required files through the system. The fourth stage is selection and determination by a team of verifiers, and the fifth stage is the issuance of a determination decree.
"The Independent Entrepreneurship Program consists of three learning stages: pre-immersion, immersion, and post-immersion," he said.
First, the pre-immersion stage is filled with learning basic entrepreneurial knowledge and skills to improve students' thinking patterns and validation of business ideas together with entrepreneurship lecturers, practitioners and coaches. Second, the immersion stage involves students directly in seeing real business processes by observing MSMEs.
In the second stage, it is hoped that they will be able to increase their competence in compiling business models and creating validated prototypes. Lastly, the post-immersion stage focuses on the market validation and feasibility study process, so that students have the ability to start a business that can be run according to plan.
"The Independent Entrepreneurship Program starts in July 2024 and ends in January 2025. Students who take part in this program are required to fulfill outputs such as final reports, financial reports, products, etc.," he added.
With this Independent Entrepreneurship program, UNESA hopes to motivate students to be actively involved in quality entrepreneurial activities, develop their abilities as entrepreneurs, and contribute to the development of the creative economy.[]
