Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA— As a superior sports campus, Surabaya State University (UNESA) is committed to developing Indonesian athletes. UNESA through the Sport and Exercise Research Center (SERC) presents the Student Sports Development Center (SPOP) program and application as a monitoring and evaluation service system for East Java student athletes.
The program has been launched and is a joint commitment between UNESA and The East Java Youth and Sports Service (Dispora) at the peak of the 2023 East Java National Sports Day (Haornas) commemoration at Gor Jayabaya, Kediri City, last Friday, September 22 2023.
Signing of the Joint Commitment on 'Fostering and Development of Achievement Sports National Level between UNESA Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., and East Java Head of Youth and Sports Affairs Moh Ali Kuncoro were witnessed by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ario Bimo Nandito Ariotedjo and the Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa.

Meanwhile, Khofifah said, East Java continues to be committed to advancing national sports by improving the quality of athletes to achieve sporting achievements on the world stage. To achieve this consistently, it is necessary to build a better sports ecosystem.
“With our shared commitment, young athletes with achievements and character at the world level will be born. "This program and application is an important part and really supports the development of the Regional Sports Grand Design (DBOD) and the Regional Youth Grand Design (DBKD) in East Java," he said.
The Chancellor of UNESA said, this program and application is an innovative solution to overcome sports problems, especially for young athletes, so that they can produce athletes who excel and implement the synergy of collaboration and enthusiasm for building sports in Indonesia.
“We apply the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) coaching method which can provide adequate attention "It's better for every athlete to maximize their potential to reach the peak of achievement," explained Cak Hasan.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mochamad Purnomo, S.Pd., M.Kes., Secretary of the Sport Center, said, this system has been tested and has superior features such as performance management charts which can monitor athlete conditions and predict athlete performance through training records. This application is also equipped with several other features such as training load or the intensity of training an athlete receives during a certain period of time. This training load includes training duration, training intensity, and training frequency. This can help athletes optimize training results and minimize injuries.
Then, there is an athlete diary feature, a feature with complaints about events and events experienced by athletes during training. Another feature, there is wellness or the overall condition of physical, mental and emotional well-being experienced by athletes. This feature is not only about disease but about creating a balanced lifestyle and represents health and happiness.
"A feature that is no less important is the Coaching Logbook or diary which is used to record information or events during each athlete's training. the day. "This application has involved around 100 to 200 athletes in East Java," explained Purnomo, yesterday (Saturday, 23/9/2023). [*]
