Four PPK Ormawa teams from four universities underwent a visitation which took place at UNESA.
Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA--Surabaya State University (UNESA) is hosting a visitation for the Student Organization Capacity Strengthening Program (PPK Ormawa) in 2024. This activity was held in the Auditorium on the 11th floor of the Lidah Wetan Campus 2 Rectorate Building, on Wednesday, October 23 2024.
This activity was attended by four universities, namely UNESA, Lamongan Islamic University (Unisla), Muhammadiyah University Surabaya, and Trunojoyo Madura University (UTM). The four of them successfully passed the selection to the Abdidaya PPK Ormawa stage.
Yetty Septiani Mustar, Head of the Sub-directorate of Interests, Talents, Competencies and Reasoning, explained that UNESA was appointed as the host because it was one of the campuses that successfully passed the Abdidaya PPK Ormawa.
He said that this year only one team was admitted to each campus, including UNESA. Each team succeeded in obtaining funding to run their program.
Abdidaya's visitation aims to evaluate the sustainability of the program that the team has designed after they received initial funding. "This activity includes an assessment of the program which will continue after the initial implementation is complete," he explained.
The visitation activity involves several stages, starting with in-depth study of the material and intense discussions between each team and the visiting team. This discussion provided an opportunity for each team to explain in detail the progress and challenges they faced during the implementation process.
After the discussion session, the teams were immediately invited to visit the villages where they implemented the Ormawa PPK program. Yetty also emphasized that the selection process was quite strict and not all universities managed to pass the Abdidaya stage.

The PPK Ormawa Team of the UNESA Sports Science Study Program Student Association (HMP IKOR) passed to the Servant level.
“No all campuses can qualify, and there are some campuses that can even qualify more than one team. "However, this year there are around 160 universities throughout Indonesia that have succeeded in advancing to the peak of Abdidaya," he explained.
The peak of the Abdidaya competition, which is the final stage of PPK Ormawa, will be held in November 2024 in Bali. This competition is a prestigious event for universities in Indonesia, similar to the National Student Scientific Week (Pimnas) in the Student Creativity Program (PKM), where the best teams will compete to show the results of implementing the programs they have developed.
"This abdidaya is not only the final selection, but also an event where we can see students' creativity and innovation in solving problems in society through the programs they run. "This is like the Pimnas competition, but for PPK Ormawa," concluded Yetty.
One of the teams participating in this visitation was the PPK Ormawa team from the Sports Science Study Program Student Association (HMP IKOR) from UNESA, led by Nazilatus Shurdi. Nazilatus explained that their team presented three main things during the visitation.
The flagship program proposed by the HMP IKOR team was the Digital Waste Bank, an initiative in collaboration with Sukomanunggal Village, Surabaya and related parties. This program is designed to help communities manage their waste more effectively and environmentally friendly.
"Our program aims to help local communities look for opportunities to manage waste more effectively through digital technology," he explained.< /p>
Through evaluation and mentoring, programs that pass to the Abdidaya stage are expected to be able to make a real contribution to society and the surrounding environment.
This visitation is also a momentum to prepare the best teams for the national Abdidaya competition where students' innovation and dedication will be tested again on the national stage.[*]
