That is what was discussed in a meeting or coordination meeting (Coordination Meeting) of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs in Auditorium 901 Floor 9 Rectorate Unesa, Campus 2 Tongue Wetan, Surabaya on Friday, February 7, 2025.
This meeting was attended by Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs, Robben Rico; and Director General of Social Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Supomo. Also attending the board of management and members of the East Java Chancellor Forum. They were welcomed by the ranks of leaders, deans, and director related to Semkung Unesa.
Representing the Chancellor of Unesa, Nurhasan or Cak Hasan, Deputy Rector I for Education, Student Affairs, and Unesa Alumni, Martadi said that he was ready to support and realize government ideals, including the vision and program of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs.
For him, universities are a strategic partner of the government in developing superior human resources as well as an agent of change that is able to embrace marginal community groups.
"Through this collaboration, it is expected that universities can play an active role in studying the portrait of the surrounding village problems and offering a sustainable solution," he hoped. "We will focus on building villages from the bottom through the Prosperous Village Program. It is hoped that this step can create a 'gemuyu' or happiness for people who have been lagging behind, "he said.
He stressed, universities have a central role in supporting government programs. The Ministry of Social Affairs certainly cannot run alone, need help Higher Education through Tridarma Higher Education, especially in reviewing the portrait of village problems around the tertiary institution and sustainable solutions.
The Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia established various work target groups which included vulnerable children, persons with disabilities, displaced elderly, low-income , disaster victims, special affirmations, fostered residents, disaster victims, victims of violence, victims of drugs and HIV/AIDS, social problems, vulnerable women, to the poor.
According to him, village development does not need to be grandiose, But the impact must be real on the community. , including college support.
"We need an active role in tertiary institutions in empowering vulnerable groups and other social problems," he explained.
Meanwhile, the expert minister The Ministry of Social Affairs, Andy Kurniawan, introduced the concept of people's schools as an effort to break the chain of poverty with a health-based approach, mindset, culture, education, and leadership.
