Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA –The Directorate for Prevention and Management of Strategic Issues (PPIS) together with the Teacher Professional Education Agency (BPPG) and the UNESA Crisis Center Mitigation Subdirectorate (SMCC) held a blood donation at the LPSP Building, Campus 2 Lidah Wetan, Surabaya on Thursday, 16 May 2024.
This activity also involves PMI Bangkalan. Prof. Dr. Mutimmatul Faidah, S.Ag., M.Ag., Director of PPIS said, this activity is one of the humanitarian care programs which is carried out routinely every year.
"We work together with PMI Bangkalan friends and to "This year is the second time. God willing, we will hold a blood donation every three months at UNESA," he said.
The person in charge of UDD PMI Bangkalan Regency, Muhammad Syarif Husein, said that this collaboration was based on limited conditions. blood supply in the Bangkalan area, while the need is large.
"The number of donors there is still small, they cannot meet the needs," he said.
UNESA students undergo the blood donation process which is held at the LPSP Building, Tongue Wetan Campus 2.
In the period then there were one hundred bags of blood resulting from a donor agenda at UNESA. He hopes that the collaboration with UNESA can obtain three hundred bags of blood, so that the need can be met.
"This time many members of the community registered and donated blood. It was extraordinary and we express our gratitude for this cooperation and humanitarian support," he said.
Drs. Fatkur Rohman Kafrawi, M.Pd., Head of the Teacher Professional Education Agency, said that PPG is ready to fully support humanitarian activities such as blood donation.
According to him, programs like this can provide awareness for the community and society to care for others. Especially for those who will later become teachers and provide character education to their students.
"There are around hundreds or even thousands of students in each wave. There were lots of people who wanted to donate and hopefully what is being done can be useful for those in need," he said.

Also donate blood too, Prof. Dr. H. Bambang Yulianto, M.Pd., UNESA Postgraduate Director expressed his appreciation for this humanitarian activity. According to him, activities like this should not be seen as simple, because one bag of blood from a donor can save people's lives.
One of the PPG students who participated, Fahrud Fauzan Nadim, said he was enthusiastic when he succeeded in donating his blood.
"It feels really good to be given the opportunity to help others. Hopefully activities like this can continue to be carried out," said the PPG student majoring in Housing Construction Engineering.[]
