Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA–Surabaya State University (UNESA) continues to be committed to improving the quality of collaboration in the field of education. Most recently, on Tuesday, 19 September 2023, UNESA signed an MoU with the Indonesian Cheng Hoo Education Foundation (YPCHI) in the Meeting Room, Floor 08 of the Rectorate, Lidah Wetan Campus, Surabaya.
The signing of this collaboration was attended by the Vice Chancellor Fields of Research, Community Service, Innovation, Publications and University Rankings, Junaidi Budi Prihanto, S.KM., M.KM., Ph.D., Director of Technology, Information, Communication and Cooperation Prof. Dr. Slamet Setiawan, M.A., Ph.D., and Director of the Confucius Institute (CI) UNESA, Sueb, M.Pd., as well as the leadership of YPCHI.
Junaidi Budi Prihanto said that this collaboration is a form of UNESA's commitment to improve the quality of cooperation to support the implementation of the tridharma of higher education. The more collaborative partners there are, the more opportunities there are for programs that can be synergized, aimed at quality of service and implementation of education for students.
Dr. (H.C) Bambang Sujanto, Chairman of the YPCHI Board of Trustees expressed the same thing. According to him, this is also in line with the principle that his foundation upholds to continue to expand the cooperation network.
“The principle that we always implement is cooperation and collaboration. We invite various parties including UNESA because education is an area that we prioritize, especially Mandarin language education. "We hope that this collaboration can continue and increase collaboration between various parties," he said.
Prof. Dr. J. Murphin Sembiring, YPCHI expert and consultant, said that the problems that his foundation often experiences are the lack of Mandarin language teachers in schools and teacher training related to the independent curriculum.
"We hope to be able to work together in the field of "We hope that there will be good action and collaboration from UNESA regarding Mandarin language teachers. Regarding the scheme, we need to discuss it together," he said.
Responding to this good collaboration, Sueb, M.Pd., Director CI expressed its ability to send Mandarin language teachers to YPCHI. Apart from that, teachers sent to the foundation can simultaneously map out the distribution of teaching hours, coaching related to the curriculum, and extracurricular development.
Miftachul Amri, S.Pd., M.Pd., M.Ed., Korprodi UNESA's Bachelor of Chinese Language Education said the same thing regarding this collaboration. According to him, this collaboration is in accordance with the tridharma of higher education that UNESA always implements.
"Regarding education and teaching, we will send a number of students to carry out PLP in YPCHI Kindergartens and Elementary Schools. Likewise with research and community service, we hope students can carry it out there," he explained.
Also present at this activity were Deputy Dean for Field II, Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS), Head of Sub-Directorate for Domestic Cooperation, Tim Adhoc Collaboration between FBS and Mandarin Language Education Undergraduate Study Program, as well as YPCHI ranks. [*]
