Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA --Surabaya State University (UNESA) is expanding synergy with regional and city governments in various fields. Most recently, the 'Home of Champions' campus signed an MoU with the Balikpapan City Government in order to create a conducive environment for the development of Balikpapan athletes.
As a follow-up to this collaboration, the Head of Sports, Youth, Sports and Tourism Service, Balikpapan, M. Norhan said that his party would send their talented athletes to Surabaya State University to undergo intensive training under the guidance of UNESA coaches.
"This is an important step in supporting the development of the potential of Indonesian athletes, with the hope "They can achieve brilliant achievements at national and international levels," he said.
In addition, they expressed their commitment to developing the potential of Balikpapan athletes. For him, this synergy is a big step to achieve more advanced sports achievements in the future.
"With this synergy we can improve the achievements of the Balikpapan sports generation, not only focusing on optimizing sports talent, but also improving the sports climate for the better. and systematically designing the grand design of Balikpapan sports," he said.
The party chose UNESA not without reason. Surabaya, one of which is led by UNESA, is a place where outstanding athletes in the country are born. This means, he continued, that the best training for athletes is at UNESA. Moreover, UNESA is one of the campuses trusted by the Ministry of Youth and Sports as a place to develop DBON or SLOMPN athletes.
Prof. Slamet Setiawan, MA., Ph.D., Director of Technology, Information, Communication and Cooperation welcomed this collaboration. He said, UNESA is ready to work together to support the development of Balikpapan athletes and will provide the best training system. "This collaboration is very strategic and hopefully we will realize it soon," he hoped.
This MoU was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences (FIKK) Dr. Dwi Cahyo Kartika, S.Pd. M.Kes, Director of the Professional Education and Certification Institute (LPSP), Dr. Martadi, M.Sn., Director of Sport Science, Coordinator of the D-4 Vocational Sports Coaching Study Program and others.
