Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA—Leadership of Surabaya State University (UNESA) held a meeting with the Regional Planning, Development, Research and Development Agency team or Bappelitbangda, Mahakam Ulu Regency, East Kalimantan in the Meeting Room, 8th floor, Rectorate Building, Campus 2 Lidah Wetan, on Art, 29 April 2024.
The agenda was attended directly by the cooperation sector and the ranks of a number of UNESA directorates. Meanwhile, Mahakam Ulu was attended directly by the Head of Bappelitbangda, Gerry Gregorius, SE, M.Si, AK, CA, along with several functional and implementing staff.
This meeting contained a presentation of a report on cooperation in the Implementation of Self-Management by other Government Agencies Non-Self-Financing in 2024 and a report on cooperation that has been carried out so far.
There were several other topics also discussed, namely gender mainstreaming, a presentation of the preliminary report which underscored the urgency and complexity of this issue. "It is hoped that the presence of in-depth analysis can pave the way for more inclusive and just policies in Mahakam Ulu Regency," said Gerry Gregorius.
Apart from that, it is also important that this collaboration be directed at increasing the role of women in alleviating poverty, strengthening employment and support networks for women. It is hoped that the results of the analysis from this meeting will be able to stimulate concrete steps to reduce social disparities at the household level.
The development plan for MSMEs is also an issue that is no less important. In a global atmosphere full of challenges, it is hoped that this development will be a driving force for creating an inclusive and competitive business ecosystem.

Head of Sub-Directorate for Domestic Cooperation at Unesa, Beni Setiawan, S.Pd., M.Pd., Ph.D., added that this meeting also discussing the road network in Mahakam Ulu Regency. As vital infrastructure for connectivity and economic growth, proper mapping and analysis will help plan more effective and sustainable investments.
"We feel grateful to be invited to discuss or study regional development challenges and strategies in Mahakam Ulu from various aspects. "Hopefully the results of this study can become a reference and strengthening in encouraging transformation in Mahakam Ulu," he said.[]
