UNESA and Unnes journal leaders and teams share governance strategies for reputable journals.
Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—Increasing the quantity and quality of scientific publications is a necessity for every higher education institution in Indonesia, including Surabaya State University (UNESA). From year to year the number of scientific journals at UNESA increases.
In terms of quality, the number of journals indexed by Sinta has now reached 69 journals, even this week one of the journals has succeeded in breaking into the Scopus index, namely Jurnal Suara Hukum.
Nevertheless , still needs faster acceleration efforts. One of them is conducting benchmarking at institutions that already have better achievements, so that UNESA is able to pursue them systematically.
For this reason, the UNESA journal team is accompanied directly by the Deputy Chancellor for Division III, Bambang Sigit Widodo conducted benchmarking at Semarang State University (Unnes), on Monday 23 December 2024.
Bambang Sigit Widodo said that this benchmarking was important for UNESA to explore Unnes' experiences and strategies in managing journals. Unnes has 186 scientific journals, 14 of which are Scopus indexed and 1 WoS indexed journal.

UNESA is committed to continuing to improve the quality and quantity of reputable journals.
The UNESA delegation was received directly by the Vice Chancellor III Unnes, namely Ngabiyanto, together with the Chair of LPPM Benny Riyanto, along with other leadership. The discussion activities were warm and full of exchange of valuable information for both parties.
The initiation of developing internationally reputable journals that Unnes has started since 2012 will be studied well to be immediately adapted to the management of scientific journals at UNESA.< /p>
Even though currently the scientific journal management system at UNESA has been built with an approach that is not much different, there is some important information that we need to execute.
"We are very confident that in the next few years it will follow there are several indexed journals internationally reputable," said Bambang Sigit Widodo.[*]
