Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—As time goes by, teachers are not only required to have four main competencies, but also need to master digital competencies such as the ability to make videos as a learning medium.
On this basis, the community service team or PKM Education Technology Study Program (TP) Surabaya State University (UNESA) held learning video media training for teachers at SMKN 1 Singosari, Malang on May 22 2024.
This service team consists of UNESA Educational Technology lecturers consisting of Dr. H. Andi Mariono, M.Pd., Dr. Alim Sumarno, M.Pd., and Hirnanda Dimas Pradana, M.Pd.
Chairman of PKM, Dr. H. Andi Mariono, M.Pd., said that this training is important for teachers, so that they can be more creative in producing learning media that suits the needs and characteristics of the material and students.
"It is true that there are many learning media that can be used, but teachers also need to practice creating learning media that suits their own level of needs," said the lecturer who is familiarly known as Andi Collection.
He added, this PKM is a manifestation of UNESA's Educational Technology commitment to solving educational problems in the field through the creation, use and management of adequate processes and resources.
"The rapid development of today must be accompanied by an increase in the competence of teachers who need to master digital technology skills to improve the quality of learning, therefore this training is important to provide to teachers," he said.
The Coordinator of the UNESA Educational Technology Masters Study Program emphasized that improving teacher competency is part of the educational technology domain. "As long as humans need education, as long as educational technology is needed," he said.[]
