UNESA Labschool Elementary School teachers learn to create inclusive teaching materials and literacy assessments with the UNESA Disability Directorate team.

SURABAYA—Improving the quality and access to inclusive education starting at the elementary school level is a must, which is why a team of lecturers from the Directorate of Disabilities, Surabaya State University held "Training on Inclusive Preparation of Teaching Materials and Literacy Assessments for Labschool Elementary School Teachers for Initial Student Diagnostics" at the UNESA Labschool on Friday, July 19 2024.
This training was attended by special assistant teachers and UNESA Labschool Elementary School students. This training was led by Zaenal Abidin as chairman, together with team members consisting of Diah Anggraeny, Hirnanda Dimas Pradana, Novia Restu Windayani, Acep Ovel Novari Beny, and Onny Fransinata Anggara.
PKM Chairman, Zaenal Abidin said, This training is intended to provide teachers with understanding and skills in preparing inclusive teaching materials and literacy assessments.
With an initial diagnostic approach, this training is expected to help teachers identify students' literacy needs and abilities more precisely and comprehensively. According to him, this training is important to create an inclusive school.
"This training is very important because with inclusive teaching materials and assessments, we can ensure that every student gets an education that suits their needs. Teachers will also be better prepared to face various challenges in the classroom, especially in literacy matters," said Zaenal Abidin.
The training participants seemed enthusiastic about participating in each session presented by the service team. The material presented includes techniques for preparing teaching materials that are interesting and appropriate to current developments, as well as literacy assessment methods that can be applied inclusively in the classroom.
This activity is a concrete manifestation of Educational Technology's commitment to improving the quality of education and learning through community service.
With this training, it is hoped that teachers can apply the knowledge gained in daily learning activities, so that the quality of education that is friendly to all at UNESA Labschool Elementary School continues to increase.
Devotion to It is hoped that this community will become an example for other educational institutions in developing programs that are beneficial for teachers and students, as well as contributing to improving the overall quality of education.[]
