
Students of the FEB Unesa Management Study Program experienced many benefits from being involved in the Winter Program in Entrepreneurship: Startup Ecosystem Exposure 2025.
Unesa.ac.id. , SURABAYA— Three Bachelor of Management students, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) representing Surabaya State University (Unesa) in the Winter Program in Entrepreneurship: Startup Ecosystem Exposure 2025, which will take place for a week, 5-12 January 2025 at Tarumanegara University , Jakarta.
This annual program initiated by the National University of Singapore (NUS) aims to provide students with direct learning experiences in the startup business sector. The three students are Novanda Akbar Dwiyanto, Wike Indah Nur'aini, and Immanuella Virginia Irawan.
Novan, a student born in Sidoarjo, said that this program was in line with his passion for business and startups. "This program gives me the opportunity to learn directly from experts and build relationships with students from various campuses, including Singaporean students," explained Novan.
He said that the selection process for this program was not easy. Participants have to go through a series of stages, starting from administration, essay writing, making an introductory video in English, to interviews.
"My biggest challenge was when making an introductory video which had to meet the specified topic criteria with a short duration, "Luckily I was able to get through it all," he said.

During the program, he had the opportunity took part in discussion sessions with well-known speakers, including foreign professors, and the leaders of the Educational Fund Management Institution (LPDP) Scholarship. The speakers shared stories of their journey from starting a business to reaching the pinnacle of success.
“Their stories are very inspiring. "They emphasized the importance of having a clear vision, persistence, and the ability to adapt to the demands of the times," said Novan.
Apart from discussion sessions, participants were also invited to be involved in various activities, such as the Masterchef Session which honed teamwork through cooking typical Indonesian food, and getting to know local culture such as playing angklung at Saung Angklung Mang Udjo, Bandung.
Apart from that, the most memorable moment for Novan was the opportunity to meet and share stories with new friends from abroad , especially students from Singapore.
"Exchanging experiences with them really opened my horizons, both about culture and exchanging other exciting stories," he said enthusiastically.
Novan expressed his thanks to Unesa which has provided full support, both financially and in supplies. "This support is very meaningful, so that I can compete with students from other well-known campuses," he said.
In the future, he and his friends plan to continue to build international networks and inspire other students to dare to pursue opportunities and similar opportunity. “The key is to learn English. "By mastering English, the world will feel closer," he said.
