Unesa.ac.id. , SURABAYA—Surabaya State University (Unesa) through the Directorate of Student Affairs and Alumni ensures that its graduates are absorbed in the world of business and industry, and continue study. The results of the tracer study, the uptake of 'Growing with Character' campus alumni continues to increase from year to year.
Director of Student and Alumni Affairs (Mawal) Unesa, Muhamad Sholeh said that the level of absorption of graduates in the world of business and industry includes IKU-1, which is not only about getting a decent job, but also about graduates successfully continuing their studies or becoming entrepreneurs.
The increase in the absorption of Unesa graduates continues to increase, he continued, since becoming a PTN-BH, Unesa has consistently increased the percentage of graduate absorption by 58.48 percent in December 2022. Then in December 2023 it was 79.05 percent and in December 2024 it was 87.56 percent.
To date, as of January 2025, the absorption of alumni who have met the criteria is 86.73 percent. With the gold standard of 80 percent set by the ministry, Unesa has now succeeded in exceeding that value since the launch of the IKU league in 2020."We have a tracer development team Each faculty is tasked with communicating with alumni. We can monitor and provide information on job opportunities so that alumni are absorbed in the world of work. "But in this case, alumni must be willing and cooperative in providing information about their jobs and salaries," said the lecturer at the Faculty of Education (FIP).
Apart from that, the Mawal Directorate actively collaborates with companies and schools to hold campus hiring. This is often the target of alumni who have just graduated.
"Apart from alumni careers, we also ensure alumni contribute by providing assistance to the alma mater through an endowment fund scheme, which is managed to help outstanding students from underprivileged families," he explained.
This achievement is a form of Unesa's commitment to encouraging and ensuring that its graduates can have careers and work with salaries above the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP).
"With this we hope that graduates can get life that prosperous, besides maintaining the good name of the alma mater to continue to serve the community, nation and state, as well as socializing Unesa in society," he hoped.[*]
